Yeah...I'm bolt-on boy...:rlaugh:... I just choose to not waste my time on some "Rube Goldberg" (AKA: mickey-mouse, MacGuyver'd, ghetto-rigged, bailing-wired) swap, just to see if I can get it running. If you see me as someone who tries stupid projects just to finish them...you don't know...

    Turbo Coupe Problem....thinking TPS

Wow...it's like Deja-vu all over again... This is a very popular topic, you may want to do a search. You need to set your idle properly.

What year timing belt covers fit?

The DIS engines have that cover. 89-94 Ranger and 91-93 Mustang...not sure on the 95-up Ranger...they changed lots of stuff on those.

HUH? Difficulty shouldn't be the goal. Swapping the rest of the (excellent) Volvo motor would be FAR easier and net a FAR more reliable package. You still wanna race spanky? :spot: :D

    AR. question

"A/R" has nothing to do with the size of anything. It's a ratio of two measurements. You can have a ".63" T2 (tiny) and a ".63" Thumper (Huge). Further, rating turbos for horsepower is the closest thing you can get to total nonsense. There's so much more to it than that. A turbo that...

    86 SVO Dyno #'s good?

Not particularly...a good running stocker will do 180-200 horse and 200+ torque. I've seen a stone stocker with a Spearco do 225. If it's a typical SVO, put some decent gas in it (100 unleaded 50/50 with premium) and see what it does...bet it does better.

    Yo "Mr.Woodster"...

I think that may be because people relate post count to knowledge...big mistake. And I have also noticed that there are certainly a lot of..."coming soon" items in the sig files here. ;) I mostly just like to hang out somewhere to try and help out and have some fun. Like I said when I...

Seen them...and you can see that the bore centers don't line up. What's 50 or 100 thou when you're building such a precision, high-performance piece? When a Volvo head makes more power than a stock cast head has...then you get to talk. As it is, there's like ONE...

If straight-up, uncontroverted facts can't convince you that you're mistaken, then at least admit to yourself that you're operating on your beliefs rather than working from some sort of objective reality. "Rodding as religion" as it were.

I raced back in the day, but I sucked. :D I quit doing it when I got into cars and it's been downhill since then. If I'm going to throw myself into harm's way, I want some .083 Cromoly *around* me, not *under* me. I bought/traded/scrounged a cool BMX bike to mess around with. It's a...

    Yo "Mr.Woodster"...

I have a question for you... Well...a couple actually. I wouldn't want to think you didn't have some reasonable answers or that you would just take a shot, then run and hide.

It's called "sarcasm" Brantley...you might want to look it up some time. ;) Adding one more piece of wire to the three or four existing pieces of wire changes NOTHING. The ECU grounds directly to the battery for all the sensor grounds (signal return) and directly to the turbo for the O2...

Dual plug manifold fit single plug head?

That's a negative. :nonono: They don't flow squat, BTW...in case you were wondering.

    AR. question

Uhhh...I don't really understand what you're asking... You just got the T3 and want to know if it's better than the IHI? Not really. The IHI is a great turbo, it's just not easily "upgradeable". They last forever and they have the same or a little more capacity than a stock T3...

Good luck with it. :) Looks like a lot of work...BTDT. Here's a video of my 2.3L in action. It runs a little better now...it's the best I could do with my limited mechanical abilities (according to 140cilx). Better turn up the boost in the Cordia...:D

If your ground stuff is messed up, then do what you have to do to correct it. Just don't get all crazy and obsessive grounding everything...it's just a waste of time....but if it makes you feel better. That solenoid deal is the canister purge valve. The turbos don't use it. Just...

Oh god...not the butt-dyno again...:rlaugh: I BUILD and sell EFI harnesses. Trust me, I know where the grounds go and how they work. The stock ground configuration is more than adequate if they're in decent condition...but don't let lil' ol me stop you from grounding every single...

Naaahhh...the V8 Focus bolt-in deal is kinda lame IMO. They're actually *as* heavy as a Mustang and to get them to "bolt in", the engine and drivetrain are really low relative to the body...quite the opposite of how it should be. There's no room in the unibody for the drivetrain, so it's...
