    I have this front end noise also and my suspension is all stock with 2250 miles on it. No problems bottoming out though. I was guessing sway bar bushings but I could be wrong.

    Yeah even if it's the MAZDASPEED 6 you should have no trouble beating him, as long as he's stock. In stock trim they run 6.2 0-60s.

    Now that would make these cars stupid fast. To answer the question, I'd be satisfied w/ 315hp if it means I can have a V8. Nothing beats the sound of the old 4.6L IMO.

    Shock life and tire rubbing

    FWIW, when I pulled the stock shocks at 30k, the shock bushings were shot. The rubbing is probably caused by insufficient backspacing. Try installing some wheel spacers for the rear.

    So I got to drive one of these today and man, what a nice car. I just wanted to know what kind of shifter is equipped in these cars? I looked on Saleen's website and didn't see any shifters there. Would a Hurst or a B&M bring the same type of feel?

    Will the pulleys affect the A/C at all? It gets pretty hot down here in Georgia.

    You mean the EEC? No, a cold air shouldn't harm anything. And the only thing the gears will affect is the speedometer - it'll say you're going faster than you really are which will give a false reading on the odometer as well.

    Maybe he meant e-brake cable? Anyway 007, yes I believe the gas pedal mod could be the one to blame for this problem because the mod removed most, if not all slack from your cable, which probably made it stretch ever so slightly, shortening its life.

    I appreciate your input. I would get gears but what's stopping me is that I commute 60 miles daily on the freeway and I'd hate to see a decrease in gas mileage. Should I just get a 75 shot and call it a day? Would it be too much to ask if I wanted 260-270whp and still get 23+ highway mpg?

    So I'm just wondering if the following mods on a PI GT help it edge out the s197 GT, given that both cars have a 5-spd and the s197 is stock. O/R Prochamber and MAC catback 70mm plenum/TB and K&N P51 intake and tune And will the P51 retain driveability for a daily driver?

    hp question

    On a 96-98 4.6L with those parts you will see at least the amount that 99-04 4.6Ls make, because the PI H/C/I is the main difference between the two engines. And generally speaking, catbacks won't do much on a NA 4.6L so don't expect much from that Flowmaster kit.
