I updated my "between the seats" e-brake handle web page

All I did was relocate the front end of the stock cables from their original mounting tabs to the home made bracket, so there was not any routing to do. Relocating them changed the way they fit under the car and that is why I used the hose to protect the cable, fuel and brake lines.

New DazeCars web page on building a 9" rear end

Well I finished another DazeCars how-to/DIY web page. This one shows how I built a 9" rear end housing for a first generation Mustang. As always all comments welcome. http://home.bresnan.net/%7Edazed/narrowinga9.html

Mustang IRS NEW WEB PAGE IS DONE!!! Please comment

It is going to be a little wile. My wife convinced me that I need to finish one car so 75% of my efforts are being focused on my 62 Galaxie. I have had a little time to work on the IRS and home made coil over set up for my Mustang but am currently held up by a lack of funds.

I think it would be a fun project. In fact I am going to build one for my 62 Galaxie here is a really good web page on how to do it: http://web.archive.org/web/20040101124240/http://home.pacbell.net/ssixto/automotive/R&P/R&P.html Going to have to disagree with you there. The J-car rac's...

Has anyone used ultrastang rear disc brake conversion brackets

My parts were for a Lincoln mark VII, same stuff. I was able to set it up in an afternoon. If you decide to go that route let James W or my self know and we can email you a copy of the shop manual for the Mark VII brake set up so that you can properly set up the calipers when you install them...

Has anyone used ultrastang rear disc brake conversion brackets

I have his set up on my 64.5 and love them. The only problem I have had was getting a quality rebuilt caliper from the auto parts store. I had several calipers off the shelf that I could not get the e-brake to work correctly even after setting them up correctly (you need to adjust the piston...

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

Glad you liked my information. I am working on the text for page IV now and hope to get it done by the first of the year. When dealing with David make sure to let him know where you found out about the Jaguar IRS units and he should give you a little bit of a discount.

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

A stock Jaguar differential is rated at 500 HP. There are improved components that can be installed to take it far beyond this mark. I even know a guy who has a Jaguar IRS in his mustang and races it. Did I mention his car pouts out 600 RWHP :) :) I think the Jag rear end is up to the task :)

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

I understand what you are saying, and really appreciate your comments and concerns however I simply do not see it as an issue. The weakest link is the half-shaft u-joints and the ones used are quite a bit bigger than the standard Mustang driveline u-joints. The average Jaguar weighs in the...

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

I have not looked that much in to alignment. I know how to adjust camber, and caster is fixed based on how the unit is mounted. I am not sure if there are any toe adjustments. I am thinking that there is not because the wheels are relatively fixed and with the wishbones and trailing arms...

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

I had a similar thought, and was originally going to remove a different amount from the two pieces based on the ratio of half shaft to LCA length observed from the original XJ6 pieces. However after getting the opportunity to crawl under an early XKE with the narrower track width I soon...

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

The closest units are the ones from 1970-1974 XKE and the 1960 - 1969 3.8s they both measure out at 56" hub to hub as apposed to the 58" hub to hub of a 64.5-66 Mustang

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

That is a really good point. Lucky for me Jaguar IRS assemblies come in much narrower trackwidths than what I am going to be needing an I was able to crawl under an early XKE an take a bunce of measurements, so I know that I will be just fine.

Jaguar IRS in a classic Mustang

After much work the third web page documenting my project is done with the exception of needing 2 pictures. This is in my opinion the best of the three pages because it deals with the heart of the issue narrowing the parts and changing the bolt pattern on the wheel flanges. If you are not...

    Doing Shelby drop

Arning did develop the drop as part of a performance suspension package that did include IRS. Many 63 and 64 Falcons were tested on and it was these cars that the Mustang IRS was installed. 4 or 5 cars (all falcons but 1) got the original Ford IRS put under them.
