    Mufflers

IMO- the question about what mufflers is worse then the question of edelbrock or holley. That being said here is my experience. I had flowmaster 40's and really loved them and really miss them. I now have magnaflows (because I bought their whole 2.5" kit to upgrade my 2.25" system) and...

Where to put all these gauges?

After driving my car for 15 years I know when to shift without even looking at a the tach. That being said its certainly not an ideal tach location, but the others are fine there, and at some point they will all be switched to an in-dash setup like Blown65's.

LED replacement tail light bulbs? Anyone use them?

I got some real nice ones from YearOne, they were like $79 I think and they let you use a discount code on them too (so you can save up to 20%).

t-5 conversion, cause lord knows we need another thread on this

that is completely INCORRECT. I have a Tremec 3550 (which has a bigger case then a T5), it was a direct bolt in to replace my 3-speed manual. I didn't have to cut anything on my car to make it fit, and that includes the stock driveshaft since the 3-speed and 3550 are the same length.

t-5 conversion, cause lord knows we need another thread on this

It depends, you have 3 choices: 1. Late model bell housing & stock T5 2. Early Bell housing, spacer plate, stock T5 3. Early bell housing, T5 with shortened input shaft So if you are using a late model bell your T5 will bolt right in, if not you have option 2 or 3.

t-5 conversion, cause lord knows we need another thread on this

If you don't want to use the adapter plate you can get a shortened input shaft for about the same price and then its a direct bolt-in. (thats what I did)

    Scatter Shield for My '65

I think it was the 15200, as I went with the early style bell, that matches the depth of the original 289 bellhousing and was set-up for mechanical linkage.

    Scatter Shield for My '65

I just realized I made a mistake, I used a Lakewood bell and a mcleod clutch.

Debating '05 GT vs. Cobra brake upgrade

I think you might want to do a bit more research, 5 or 6 large?-not sure where you got that number from. You can buy the adapter brackets for either Cobra brakes or '05+ brakes for about $200 from Street or Track or MustangSteve. Then source the calipers on your own, you can find Cobra stuff all...

Debating '05 GT vs. Cobra brake upgrade

To be honest besides the way it looks, meaning that it says 'cobra', I pretty much hate the Cobra caliper design. I have a C4 corvette in which the clip/pin holding the caliper together did in fact fail while I was driving. I promptly upgraded to the C5 corvette brake system (which seems to be...

    Scatter Shield for My '65

I have a Mcleod scattershield, it required a small amount of a grinding on the driver side because of the mechanical clutch linkage bracket, and I had to take a pry-bar to one of my header tubes for a bit of clearancing.

    Carbs... Not just for nutrition

I have the 650 mighty demon and really like it. I had a edel. 750, and i liked it for most driving, but it just didn't seem to have the punch the might demon does.

Debating '05 GT vs. Cobra brake upgrade

Thanks, it helps, I am leaning towards the GT's right now because I can get a set of take-off calipers and rotors for under $200. have you ever had a chance to compare the brake pads? What did you do for your rear brakes on each of car?

Debating '05 GT vs. Cobra brake upgrade

I am planning on upgrading the front and rear brakes on my '65 to either the '05 Gt or the Cobra set-up. Aside from the most obvious difference in rotor size, 12.5" vs 13", what are the pro's and cons of either set-up. I know the cobra calipers are basically the same as the C4 corvette. At...

    Value on a 65 200 and 3 speed

It certainly wouldn't hurt to do that. I suppose that would make me feel more comfortable as a buyer if I was looking for something I could just drop in.

    302 vs. temperature

When we talk about heat soak, it has nothing to with the engine resistance or a weak battery. The issue is that you over heat the starter motor-which is an electric motor, and a hot electric motor does not work as well as cool one. And yes 5 minutes of driving is enough to get it hot.

    302 vs. temperature

do you have long tube headers? I used to get heat soak all the time, the problem went away when I put on ceramic coated headers.

Best place to get a T5

I got my Tremec 3550 off Corral.net classifieds, there are a lot of late model guys there and there always seems to be an abundance of different kinds of parts available at any given time.
