    You could get the 1968 Shelby style hood pins. They twisted on & fit more flush with the hood.

    Get pins. I'm an Auto Damage Appraiser for an insurance company. I get claims like these all the time. The factory safety latches tend to tear out of fiberglass hoods. I'd get the pins & keep the safety latch for added insurance.

    I need to get some new pics...this one is from last July The best it ran was a flat 13.00 @ 106mph with no spray, & a blown headgasket on street tires (it wasn't a goodnight). With a set of slicks & the nitrous I think it should be well into the 12's

    tires rubbing

    I had a problem with my pipes rubbing on my 255/45R17's. I just went to the local Meineke Muffler Shop & had them move the pipes in an inch. Solved the problem & they only charged me $12 for the fix.

    Yeah, you can unbolt the swing out doors for the street (watch the bar at the bottom when you step out though, that danm thing will break an ankle). That's what I do so the wife doesn't have to unlatch it & swing the bar out all the time. I just bolt it back in when I go to the strip or a car show.

    Roll bar/cage questions

    With an 8 point you can get a swingout kit for the door bars so you don't have to climb over them all the time. nice option if you still drive the car on the road. With a 10 point cage I belive you cannot have swingouts to pass tech inspection.

    The shop just took out the rear seat, welded to the rear rails, notches the sides ot the rear seat & but the seat back. The rear bars run between the sides of the rear seat & the interor quarter trim panels.

    I got mine from http://swracecars.com. it's an 8 point but I installed it as a 6 point with swingout door bars. S&W makes a bar specifically for the convertible.

    Yeah, It was MythBusters Episode 64 The Exploding Pants & Great Gas Conspiracy. They tyied it on an Olds with a carb & a fuel injected Honda. They mixed up 1 ounce of acetone to 10gallons of gas & put the cars on a dyno until the gas ran out. Both cars got worse gas mileage.
