    Cleared out the line with a compressor and nothing unusual came out and seemed to be pretty clean. Gas also flow very easily out of the tank when I disconnected the fuel line. If the eccentric is off or broke would you still be able to slide the fuel pump arm freely?

    Thanks for the input and I did try that and I got no gas out of the out line, so at least I have narrowed it down to the fuel pump and the tank My guess is because the fuel pump is brand new the problem is a clogged fuel line or tank. This will be my after work project. Does anybody have...

    The fuel filter is brand new, and when you pull back the linkage you can hear a noise being produced but no gas is being sprayed into the carb. If that makes any sense.

    Thanks 302Coupe, so would I have been better off sticking with my old cam which was Duration 270/ 280, Lift .448/ .472.....so is there anything to do to overcome this without putting in a different cam? Oh by the way I have a 4-spd top loader trans.

    Thanks for your response, the Heli coil was the route I was thinking of, what about using a self tapping bolt? Would that be an option or is the Heli coil your best bet.
