I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND PRELIMINARY PRICING FOR THE 05 STANG

The sticker on a fully optioned out 2004 GT Conv is around $32,000. True, no sane person would pay sticker. :D But then again, there were a lot of people who paid over sticker on the 2003 Mach 1 just to have one of the first. For those more willing to wait 6 months more, were able to get...

I believe the hood did change in 1999 too.

    2005 will have IRS option

I think that is why each and every page is marked as "Initial Draft". We all might want to hold off panicking until we get to see an approved and released version.

    140mph on the dash??????????

I thought they had a speed limiter built into the computer, set to the speed rating of the tires???

    New Top Install Anyone ?

I would shop around for a better price, but installing a convertible top takes quite a bit of experience and even then, it might need lots of tweaking and adjusting afterward. This is one area where it is better to pay an expert to do it.

Hood scoops and side scoops ????

Just thought I would also point out, that the Firebird puts its scoops on the front, leading, edge of the hood. That was a very good choice by the Firebird designers. The front edge of the hood is a high pressure area. :nice: In contrast, the middle of the hood, where the Mustang...

Hood scoops and side scoops ????

The days of a stubby snorkel sticking out of the round air filter housing, sucking in hot engine compartment air, are long long gone. Most modern cars, including the Mustang and the Firebird, already use COLD outside air for their EFI, drawn from either the fender area, or from in front of the...

No Warranty But on Fords TSB.. FREE?

TSB's are just helpful service hints and tips. They, by themselves, are not "hidden warranties". However, if you notified your dealer of a problem during the warranty, it is covered until they fix it no matter how long it takes. That is a federal consumer protection law. Just make sure...

    side scoop removal

You mean with leaving all the holes in the rear quarter panel, which are usually covered up by the side scoops, exposed? BTW, excellent color choice!!! :nice:

    Has anyone's key ever bent?

You need the original (now bent) key in order to easily program in a new key. So, don't loose it or make it worse!

    Whats wrong with my GT??

Try down shifting to 3rd first. :D 4th is overdrive, and you aren't going to get snap-your-neck-back acceleration when in 4th even with a V8.

so what's up with the rear-view mirrors?

Yea, it is certainly cheap to have a new car, with newly designed mirrors, and not have those mirrors have the "little things" like directional markers and puddle lights built into them. Again, just how many $30,000 brand new cars do you see coming out today without stuff like that built into...

so what's up with the rear-view mirrors?

My old Firebird (sorry for using the F-word here) had painted mirrors. They also sold "mirror bras" to protect the paint on them. Mirrors, sticking out like that, are very prone to scrapes, scratching, nicks, dings, chips, etc. Personally, I like the black plastic mirrors because they...

    Installed clear fog lights... WOW!!

I just replaced mine this past weekend. There are three bolts per side holding the bracket to the bumper cover. One on the bottom (which you see), and two on the top. You need to remove all three. The bolts are all the same size, so what ever size socket wrench you need to do the bottom...

    2005 looks nice,but,

Me too, and I bought a '03. :D However, after the '99 "edge styling", Ford tweaked it a bit too. Both the hood and side scoop designs changed, as well as the rear spoiler. The headlight design eventually changed from clear to smoked. Inside, the IUP option helped, as well as other...

    2005 looks nice,but,

Gosh, if some "little rug-rat" can break it by just tugging on it, how is it ever going to stand up to a grown-up yanking on it? I guess that would come under "abuse" and Ford will never have to fix a single one under warranty.

    2005 looks nice,but,

You are right, but the SN95 is that way too. The "bean counters" at Ford cost reduce the Mustang to reach its entry level target of around $16K to $18K. However, what is acceptable in that price range, isn't acceptable in the $30K range (let alone the rumor of a $50K special edition). At...

    2005 looks nice,but,

I, too, was very disappointed when the production 2005 was shown, and it lacked the hood and side scoops from the prototype. I think Ford designers did a great job coming up with a really nice set of, very contemporary, scoops which really enhanced and complimented the "retro" styling, yet...
