    Hey GoneSolo! I've had a persistant "knock" or "pinging" between 2500-3000 RPM since the car was new. (4th or 5th gears) At 37,500 miles a tech determined the MAF sensor was 50% out of spec!!! Not an octane issue for my vehicle or vacuum leak. Normally, techs don't look to the MAF...

    I haven't had any "lag" on acceleration, but I don't have TC either. If you have TC, can you turn it off and experiment with launching? I have no problems with shift response. At 38,000 miles, I can still "chirp" second gear on my automatic. SOHC
