    The part # for the recall ign. switch is F29Z-11572-D. I think it comes with 2 new Torx tamper proof screws. It sounds like someone has been there before you, most likely not a Ford Dealer.

    An AOD will have a TV cable running from the TB to a lever on the left side of the trans. An AOD-E will not. I'm sure the difference in the convertors has to do with lock-up features.

    If you fried it you can send it to MSD and they will rebuild it with the latest updates for much less than a new one. I bought a $10 swap meet 6AL and had MSD go through it. Worked great for years at 1/2 the price of a new one. Still working on my wagon 12 years later. Been there, done that! :)
