few pics of my explorer rear disc brake setup

I have been thinking about doing the Crown Vic swap for the rear and when I look on eBay i see there is some guy selling spacers to help center the rotor, are these needed? I see some of these kits don't have the spacers, and I would think the lugs would keep the rotor in place ok.

    New exhaust installed- pics

Every car that I have heard that dumps under the car is usually very loud inside and out. But I have not noticed that with cars that have the turndowns at the rear. Either way those turn downs are temporary, they are what came with the kit and I do not like the looks of them, so at some...

    New exhaust installed- pics

The best way I can descirbe the sound is 'Muffled' (and yes I know they are mufflers) Inside the car it is sooooo much quieter, but I never had a problem with the sound before, and never experienced any resonance before either. Golf- I have Hooker Comps that are Jet-Hot coated and I have...

    New exhaust installed- pics

I finally got around to getting my new exhaust installed, I had dual 2.25" straight pipes with Flowmasters. I now have the 2.5" Magnaflow kit with x-pipe. Its sounds alright, definately quieter in all aspects compared to my old setup- I miss my Flows! It definately looks pretty though. I...

C5 PBR calipers on a 70 disc spindle

Ah, well your half right, here is the run down on corvette brakes: For the C4's (84-96) the stock rotor was a 12" and there was an option 'J55' for Heavy Duty 13" brakes starting in '89 when the Zr-1 came out (13" were stock on Zr-1's), they were also stock on the Grand Sport, and the...

C5 PBR calipers on a 70 disc spindle

never heard that one, all C5 rotors are the same that I have seen and used on mine or my father's vette. The only options for brakes on C5's were part of the Z06 package and the only difference with that one is the powdercoated calipers.

    65 Mustang Crate Engine?

I don't know much about the company that you listed, but check DSS Racing, http://dssracing.com/ my 347 shortblock is from there (so are most of the parts too, but I assembled the motor from the shortblock up), and there are several other people who are using their motors on this board too.

Edel. Performer RPM heads on '66 289 ci

Couple things. Just so you know the bushings are esentially a fancy washer, that fills the space for the smaller 289/302 block's head bolts. And yes as already said you do need them. As far as the valve sizes are concerned, if you are using flat top pistons the 2.02" valves probably...

    Question about rim/rearend width

Your problem will more then likely be the tire/wheel hitting the leaf spring. Below are a couple pics of me trying to stuff 275 drag radials under my '65 -these were on 15x8 rims with a 4.75" BS. Notice the tire itself is hitting the leaf spring and is sticking out past the fendor. A 17x10 is...

    build or buy$$$??? advice please

this question depends on lot on your ability to do the work. If you are able to do the work, then you would probably break even vs. buying one done. If you are paying some one, then you are better off buying one completed.
