    17" Stock Rims, Wider Tires

OK. I can adjust for the gear change and tire RPM with my tuner, so that's not a big deal. I'm going to have to do some shopping for 255-265's. Think that width, in a stickier compound than the stock Pirellis, will give a decent launch with 4.10's?

    17" Stock Rims, Wider Tires

My GT has the stock (Bullitt style) 17" rims. I'm probably looking at 2XX 45 ZR-17's for extra grip when I go to 4.10 gears (manual tranny). What are the widest tires that will fit on these rims, front and rear? Also, can anyone recommend a tire that offers a good combination of grip and...

    4.10 Gears...Again!

OK, thanks for all the info. What tires do you recommend out back if I go to 4.10's? I have the 17" rims.

Why do they call it a Cold Air Kit?

Actually, they tend to draw in hotter air than the stock system, according to most of what I've read. They're drawing straight from the engine bay instead of the wheel well. 2005+ Mustangs apparently really, really need a heat shield to isolate the filter.

    4.10 Gears...Again!

Thanks! I deleted the speed limiter with the tuner, wonder if it would hit 145 with 4.10's. Sounds like I need to go with some fatter, stickier rubber out back. I wish someone made something like 275 55 ZR-17's so I could maintain stock look and ride height. Gah!

    4.10 Gears...Again!

I know there are a bunch of posts out there, but I couldn't find this info. I'm specifically looking for input from 5-speed GT owners with 4.10's. 1) Rating of 1-10, 10 being highest, what do you rate the seat-of-the-pants gain going from 3.55's to 4.10's? 2) Rating of 1-10, how bad is...

    4.10's & Stock Pirellis - Traction Problems?

I was afraid 4.10's would be too much for the stock all-seasons. I have the Torque-Thrust/Bullitt base 17" wheels and I love the look of them. Does anyone make a wider 17" or 18" version that would hold a decent width street drag radial? I'd probably want to leave the stock tires and rims...

    4.10's & Stock Pirellis - Traction Problems?

Is anyone running 4.10's with the Pirelli 235 55 ZR-17's? If so, how's traction on the street when you launch? I'm considering going to 4.10's on my 2005 5-speed, but I'm concerned that I'll effectively run slower due to traction loss at launch. I went to 3.73's in my 2000 GT 5-speed, which...

    Sayonara GTO

T4B, I ran into the exact same thing. I was going to try the GTO, but I couldn't even get a test drive. The sales manager claimed it was an "exsclusive, limited production" vehicle and that potential buyers (apparently meaning not me) wouldn't want a GTO that someone else had driven. I told...

    Speed @ Redline

Anyone have a Motor Trend or other print that lists the 5-speed Mustang GT's MPH at redline in each gear? I have no idea what I did with my magazines.

    Which one do u advice me.....GT 2006 or Mach1 2004??

From the owner of a 2000 GT and a 2005 GT: Get the new GT. The new platform is much better as a daily driver, to the point that it doesn't matter that the Mach 1 is faster. Also, if you're looking for exclusivity, you're looking at the wrong car to begin with. What makes Mustangs so great...

    Cold Weather & 93 Tune

Has anyone else thought that there car runs a bit rougher/underpowered in cold weather, with a 93 octane tune? By cold, I mean 40-50F. It seems this way to me. Only thing I can think of is that the knock sensors could pick something up and detune a bit, but that seems kind of extreme...

new Challenger gets the green light

That's great news, but I don't believe for a second that they'll make a 6.1 only. Not when they can have a Hemi R/T to compete with the Mustang ($30K) AND have the 6.1 in an SRT-8 version ($40K+ w/ "market adjustment"). Makes no sense to make it that niche.
