    blown speaker?!?!

The insulation probably rubbed off one of the speaker wires, and it's scraping against the metal. Usually it happens where the wires run through the grommet into the door, so I'd check there first.

    help choose a sub

I'd say Phoenix Gold if you're going to be feeding it a lot of power. They're also cheaper at cbrstereo.com, if you get the 10".

    car spearksers

You might still have an amp even if you didn't have the Mach460. If you still have the little cubby hole underneath the radio, take it out and you should be able to see the amp from there. It's in the same location as the mach tweeter amp: http://www.flemworld.com/Mach460/mach.html#Power...

    car spearksers

Didn't you post this before? http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=3338841#post3338841 Check to see if they're still running off the factory amplifier. If they are, you can either hardwire them to run off the HU, or get an amplifier bypass wiring kit. Then, yo u should be able to adjust...

    Mach 460 system question??

I wouldn't even bother with replacing the stock radio with the Mach. You'll be much more satisfied with some aftermarket equipment. Wiring up the mach system will be a big headache, and you'll have a much easier time replacing the HU and speakers, if you just go aftermarket.

    Powered Subs

I'd also recommend a single 10/12 over a powered sub. Phoenix Gold is discontinuing their Titanium series: http://www.cbrstereo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=500 and one of these will perform great in a small sealed box. It all depends on what you want to spend, though. Don't just...

Best car speakers for the money??

For the original poster, I also recommend the CDT's, however, if you're going to be running them off the HU, you'll be underpowering them a great deal, and you won't really notice much of a sound improvement than running a set of coaxials. If you're just looking for drop in replacements, then...

    Good replacement speakers?

If you still have the stock HU, I wouldn't even bother replacing the speakers. The way the Mach is setup is that you have 3 seperate amps for the 8 speakers(4 mids and 4 tweeters). Here's a link that'll give you an idea: http://www.flemworld.com/Mach460/mach.html The two rear ones are for the...

Looking into a system, have questions.

I agree with his suggestions, but for the amp, I'd give the CDT's, if you choose that route, a little more power, probably around 100+ RMS. Everything else sounds about right, though. :nice:

    help the rattle

Actually, Dynamat Extreme is probably about the best sound deadener on the market, that's why they have a patent on their recipe. Second Skin is a great product, and Ant is great to do business with, but he even admits himself that second skin is not as good as Dynamat Extreme and has actually...

what size speakers in 99+ coupe

They will, trust me. The CDT's have a very natural sound to them, and a good amount of midbass if you seal up the door pretty well.

    head unit in mach 460

You can install the HU while implementing the stock amps, though if you plan on adding anything later on, like aftermarket speakers, it's best to ditch the system. It's been covered a lot recently.

    i need new tweeters

Are you using the stock speakers or the infinity's like in your sig? I'd recommend replacing both the midrange and the tweeter, but if you really want to replace just the tweeter, look at madisound.com at the vifa tweets. They don't come with a crossover, but madisound will make one for you.

Whats needed to install head unit (97 GT)

Since you have only the base stereo, they only cost like $5-6. You can just get the scosche ones at wal-mart.

I don't have a 96+, but I think the Volant looks the best on your cars. $$$, though, and not sure how they stack up against the others. http://www.volantperformance.com/Products/vcarlist_files/19846C/19846Cinstall.htm

    help the rattle

For the most part, yes. A guy on caraudioforum.com tested a bunch and dynamat extreme had the highest heat tolerance among other performance factors, but I think he said that Brownbread is the closest among the alternatives. If you're just looking to get rid of rattles in the trunk, then any...

    Lost Lug Key...HELP!

Are you talking about the key for the locking lug nuts? I thought you could just go to Ford or NAPA and get one that matches the locking lug nut.
