    i did see a 67 coupe at the speed shop today with torque thrust the had a 265 with no mods to the body at all, but the guy was not there so i couldnt tell u the backspace, i also want to know myself i want 275.

    the 289 block has a higher nickle content than the 302 block for strenght the changed because it was to expensive to keep making the affordable with so they lost the extra. ive also been told if u punch a piston through a 289 block u really messed up bad and u probally shouldnt own a liscense...

    Dont forget to check to make sure u dont have water in the radiator it could cause the trannsmission to blow the pistion rings.

    well thats what i thought too but they explained to me that it was how the crank was actually balanced not having to with thebalncer or flywheel im not saying they are wrong but it deffinitly would have made my life easier if thats the way it is and not the way they said.

    jb weld will hold well atleast it did on my friends nissan because the same thing was the issue.

    difference between 289 and 289 hipo

    im pretty sure i have the hipo head and mine are slotted, they are imbossed with a 65 and if im not mistaken either 20 or 21 id have to get the car back first or ask the guy that sold them to me.

    a 235 will fit on a 7 inch rim thats what i used to have on my torqu thrust but opted for the bigger better hooking bfg radial t/a 245 60 15

    air shocks in the rear will cause the problem with the rear being to high if u dont have them then u can opt for lowering springs, or maybe u have shackles that are adjustable if so move the bolt to a hole more towards the top.

    well when i built my motor the machine shop guys told me to install the pistons one at a time and spin the crank after each so if it does lock up like this u will know which one is the problem. Also make sure the piston is installed with the correct part facing the front and rod the same way...

    axctually my dad has been dealing with this junkyard for 20 yrs and he does get good deals on everything so yeah i guess so. and yeah it does help if u know what u are looking for and know how to decode stuff.

    The machine shop told me that the 28 oz balancer can not be used on a 50 oz motor the ratating assembly will not ballence out, because one is internally ballenced and one is externalled ballenced
