New AGR PS Pump and Bad Whine

Yeah, as 89CopCoupe said, there are no more "new" pumps available. Anything you get is going to be rebuilt. The ones most people like is genuine Ford rebuilts, but you are going to pay. I was going to go with the AGR myself, as they lead you to believe it's a new unit, but after hearing of...

NEED HELP-W/Mark VIII fan electrical connector!!!!!!

I hope you have upgraded your charging system considerably if you are going to use that without something like the DCC. IIRC, that fan pulls a startup spike of near 70A...

New AGR PS Pump and Bad Whine

It couldn't hurt to try. You may of got a bunch of gunk in the hoses when you were flushing new fluid through. A new pressure hose @ Autozone is like $29. Personally, it's something I would change with a new pump anyway... Good luck... :)

    some questions...

I thought the AOD's came with 3.08's stock, and the 5 speeds came with 2.73's. I'm not sure on the blancer, but if your rearend is due for a rebuild, it can quite easily affect your ET's. How many miles on that motor?

New AGR PS Pump and Bad Whine

Ahhh..ok. I know the Ford PS pumps call for Type F ATF, and the AGR's are still just rebuilt pumps...just expensive rebuilds... If they said to use that, then I guess you should call them up and see if they will replace it?

What are you using for fluid?

    Fan What to do

Agreed on the shutting off at speed Hissin (and Sam). That is one reason why I chose to go with a switch setup so I could determine when they will be running. I know everyone loves the DCC unit, and for good reason, but I personally prefer a switch setup for the ultimate in control. In...

    Fan What to do

Sam - I've seen this argument before, but I disagree. The argument is that since it came from the factory, it's obviously the best design. If mechanical fans are so good, how come you almost never see them in cars anymore? I think at the time the fox Mustangs were designed, a mechanical...

    Fan What to do

I agree completely. People get all caught up in CFM, and totally disregard surface area most times. The ramcharger fan supposedly only pulls 2340CFM, but I've seen plenty of people with the Griffin/RC combo have no issues with cooling on blown and A/C'ed cars. I was just trying to figure out...

    Fan What to do

I've got one here ready to go along with a 31" x 19" Griffin. I got the fan without the harness, and I'm currently working on a custom harness with two switches. The fan is *very* solid, and is a OEM quality fan. It is branded by a company called Valeo, which I believe make a lot of OEM...

    Fan What to do

Also, you might might to check out the dual 11" Ramcharger fan. It's a heavy duty OEM unit that should work better than the Taurus fan because it covers more surface area on the radiator. If you buy it without the harness, and make one yourself, it's only about $80 shipped...NEW.

need help with Gears--buying tomorrow, also o2 sensors, and exhaust question

Forgot about the hybrid OBD system in the '94-95's. As for my posts, you're right...but it's even worse that my typing sucks so I spend another 10 minutes checking it before I post it... :bang: ;)

    Upgraded alt-starter line

Great link...thanks. I'm a bit confused though...all they do in that link is route the wires the same way the factory ones are? Where are the more ornate wire routing pics? Just a couple of comments on that site though... They incorrectly say the main power lead is two 10ga wires...

Can O2 sensors be bad without setting off a MIL?

I'm not sure what you mean by "MIL"...the the "Check Engine Light"? As for can they be bad and not throw a code/light, yes. O2's will slowly be less and less accurate as they get mileage on them. The usual lifespan for O2's is 60K - 80K, so if you have more than that on them, you might want...

need help with Gears--buying tomorrow, also o2 sensors, and exhaust question

Ahhh, that explains it. Our cars, 87-93 Stangs have the OBD-I ECU which is mostly a passive system. The newer cars, '96 and up, have the OBD-II ECU's that are much more of a PITA when modding. On those cars, removing the cats will cause problems without the correct mods to the ECU. This is...

need help with Gears--buying tomorrow, also o2 sensors, and exhaust question

The O2's are not affected by the cats at all. It doesn't matter to the O2's, the ECU, or the engine whether or not you have cats. I'm not sure who told you running a catless exhaust affects the O2's, but it doesn't.

    Upgraded alt-starter line

I ran mine the same way the stock one was, in front of the radiator support, underneath the battery, and to the solenoid. I got 10 feet of 4ga wire, but all I ended up needing was about 9 feet. LMK if you need any pics... Also, if you get some nice wire, you won't want to hide it...;)

The gears don't care if you have 31 or 28 spline axles, just the differential does... :)
