Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

To be honest, I don't know too many shops that charge by the job. Most are hourly, around here anyway. I'm just going to have to call every shop in the phone book tomorrow.

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

I wish I knew one in central PA. I will check with a local engine builder tomorrow. He is also known to be on the high side though. Both these shops are reputable and do good work, but I can't spend that much on a cam install. My mouth almost dropped when he told me how long it would take. :jaw...

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

Ok I will go for the hardened pushrods. It might be a few months before I get this done now. I just talked to the manager at the shop and he said it would take around 15 hours to do the install. I figured it would be 10 hours at the most. He did take into account of installing new pushrods...

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

Thanks man, you were a big help. You just saved me at least $50 because I was going to buy the springs separately. I didn't know about the cam/spring set. I was going to go with the Trickflow upgrade springs because that is what was recommended from Summit, but these should be just as good.

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

By correct do you mean the stock pushrods? If that's what you mean, then yes they are stock so they should be correct. I'm going to take it to CJ Pony Parts here in PA to have them do it, so if anything else is needed I'm sure they will know what to do. I just don't want to take it there and...

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

That would be great. I would really appreciate it. That is an awesome paint job by the way. :nice: Do you think my stock pushrods will up to the task, or do you recommend upgrading? It would be nice to save that $100, but if I really need them I won't hesitate to get them. How much power...

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

Thanks Early, It looks like I will need the first set of pushrods you listed. I believe the part number for the cam is 44425. Will I still need the VALVE ROCKER ARM PEDESTAL SHIM KIT? I don't know enough about this to know what all is involved. Can anyone help?. I have the stock Cobra 1.7 Crane...

Crane 2031 cam install on a 95 Cobra Questions

Hi Guys, I am in the process of buying a Crane 2031 cam. I want to go with this cam because I hear it was designed around the 93-95 Cobras and I hear it works very well with our 94-95 computers. I know what most of you will say, why are you going with that cam, why not go with a custom grind or...

    Won a new cobra! Question?

Wow! Congrats, but what a dilema. They're both beautiful cars, but I'm partial to the Terminators and $50,000 could do you a lot of good. Plus, wouldn't you be sad to get rid of it with all the money and effort you put into it to get it where it is? Plus the Terminator is lighter and can make...

Is there any torque loss on a dynojet?

How much of a loss though as a percentage? Is it the same amount as the horsepower loss which is around 15% on a T5?

Is there any torque loss on a dynojet?

Hey, this might seem like a dumb question, but this is something I've been wondering for a while. I know Mustangs lose about 15% of their break horsepower through the trans., but do they also lose some torque? It doesn't seem like it really should, and I know what the definition of torque is...

    Coolant Leaking - Not Good

I had to have my timing cover gasket replaced because it was leaking at the same spot. It wasn't as bad as what you are describing, but it was coming from the exact same spot and a new gasket took care of it. I like to do my own work too, but maybe you should just pay someone to look at it. It...

    93 cobra or 94

Sorry I forgot to answer the 1/4 mile question. The magazines of the day "Car and Driver" & "Road and Track" were clocking mid to high 13 second quarter mile times for both cars. Keep in mind that is probably with bumped timing and a pro driver. Most people were running in the low 14's with both...

Finally got my ride, opinions welcome.

Don't change a thing man it looks great. I think the bumper inserts are o.k. It breaks up the murdered out black look a little bit, but its a toss up kinda thing though. It doesn't bother me looking at it now, but it might get old after a while. The hood is nice and I love black wheels on a...

    93 cobra or 94

There is a sticky at the top of the home forum page that explains the differences with the cobras. I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't see it. As far as power goes, most 94-95 Cobras I've heard of or seen on this forum put out around 220 rwhp stock (which is around 260 bhp...

    Recommendations?

+1 I definately agree. If $1,000 is all you have to spend right now, those above mods will not only help get more power now, but will be a necessity after the heads and cam. You definately need an off-road pipe to compliment the rest of your exhaust, and the intake will help your car breathe...

car dies whenever at complete stop

The IAC can also give you problems because it gets clogged up with all sorts of nasty black carbon and can screw up your idle and make your car stall. It's attached to your throttle body with two screws. take it off, spray throttle body and carb cleaner in it, let it drain out and dry, then put...

    BBK H-Pipe fitment problems

After reading all of this, I have come to the conclusion that Mac H or X pipes fit best with Mac headers, and BBK h or x pipes will fit best with BBK headers. I know this is a completey different year stang than mine, but I originally purchased a Mac off road H pipe for my car to fit up to the...
