    Better picts of the vette

Passable, san~man, passable. Thought I'd come over and lurk for a while, and lo and behold, I find that some of the more cherished members are deserting the dark side for the Bowtie! A wise move, grasshopper. You still in Hawaii? I sort of recall that you were becoming jaded about the...

is it true that pi head swap gt's make more power then 99-04 gt?

Immediately after head swap, my '98 GT dynoed 248/292 rwhp/rwtq, with just a K&N as the only other (useless) mod.

My 2005 GT got stomped 2x

There is the key word. Stock. :rlaugh: Come over and read the Vette boards, and see how many are "stock". Very few that are racing, I guarantee.

Just dynoed car...smells like rotten eggs....why?

Rotten eggs is cheap gasoline. High sulfur in the gas causes formation of H2S (hydrogen sulfide) within the cats. It's not the cats, it's what you're putting into them. Buy good gas, cheapazz.

    96, 4.6L misfiring

Wild guess...either a leak in your exhaust system upstream of the O2 sensors, or a bad O2 sensor.

    pinging after headswap!!!

Octane boost makes very little difference; might help if you put in a gallon of it. You really need to get some 93 octane in there. The old GT's don't have the 'intelligence' to pull timing like that...I think only the Cobras can. When you headswapped, you raised your compression ratio about...

PI swapped guys, Need temp sensor help!

Don't use the "T" fitting idea. That's how mine was set up when I had it done. Water doesn't flow into the T, so you don't get an accurate reading...IF both sensors are in contact with the water. What's worse is if you get an air bubble in the T fitting, then there's no coolant at the sensor...

    Possible Detonation?

Any mail order tune is at best an educated guess. But if you were running lean, I'd expect that you'd be hearing pinging under hard acceleration too.

    Possible Detonation?

You know, with all the stuff you did, you may be running lean and causing backfiring. You'd hear this in your exhaust system, but it would be muffled by the mufflers. Have you checked your A/F ratio?

    96-98 GT owners?

I had my '98 GT for 60K miles, and it burned about 1qt/3K the whole time, maybe a little more. You won't see it because of the cats, but it's there. My vette had the same problem, but Chevy replaced the oil sealing rings to stop it, under warranty. Ford never even fessed up to the problem...

    NEW WEBSITE---for silver mustangs !!

No, frankly, Mustangs SHOULD be red. Now, my Vette's silver, or rather, Pewter (that's Vette talk for "silver"). I just think it's nuts to make a forum so specific that you restrict the membership to the point that there aren't enough members to keep things interesting. Not to crack on you...

    porting and polishing heads

Don't waste your money. I'm not convinced that you really get much if any gains out of P&P, and it's expensive to take off/put on the heads...I was going to say if you don't do it yourself, but considering all the new headbolts, gaskets, etc, it's even kinda expensive to do it yourself.

How Much HP Should I Really Have On 98 GT?

IMHO, do the headswap and stay N/A. You will pay in spades if something goes awry with your A/F ratio when you force induction. Plus, you'll then need to upgrade rear end, clutch, possibly the tranny, etc., etc. It just goes on and on. By the time you've replaced everything you need to...
