    fiberglass parts

Bought all my 'glass from Maier Racing. Basically, it didn't fit worth a Krap! Had to do a lot sanding, glass and resin work to make it fit properly. I've always been told that's just the way fiberglass is, but I don't believe it. I thinks it's bad/old molds that they are being cast from...

    Question about 65 GT Heads

Umm, I pretty sure the A code had slotted pushrod holes as well. If slotted pushrod holes means K code, then I is rich! I've got 3 sets of slotted pushrod holed 289 heads. I've always referred to the slotted pushrod holes as 4V heads. I may be wrong tho........

Who has the best low cost fenders?

Well, I bought repops from Laurel Mountain Mustang and they wuz, umm, sorta ok. Had to do a lot of massaging to make it fit just right, and they painted up fine and looked good. BUT, they are really thin, and I've already had a rock thrown up from the tire hit the underside of the fender and...

    Taillight sockets

OK, I remember how I did it now. I actually kept the sockets that was originally on the taillights. I used the "guts" of the new socket I bought at Autozone. I will go to autozone today and get you the part numbers. The spring was rusted out on my original ones and the little disc that holds...

    Taillight sockets

    Is this too much head???

sorta like asking is a 1050 holley too much carb for a 289 huh? Well, just keep everything in proportion. BIG heads require BIG AIR and BIG EXHAUST, and along with more air, more fuel, comes more power, and the need for improvements in the bottom end. Bottom line is YES, you could have...

    Opinions on a carb

Well, I just spent the weekend in TX pondering this same question! First, took off a 650 dual line, double pumper that was on a 302, edelbrock performer rpm intake, in a 65 conv. WAAYY to rich, gas was dripping out the tailpipes, put on an out of the box 650 vacum secondaries, elec choke...

    Rust Bullet vs POR 15

Same here, I highly recommend POR-15, and a little goes a long way, it's not like you need to spend much over $100 for all you'll need.

    AOD swap for C4?

Well, thanks guys!!! Lots of good info. This car is going to be a street cruiser. It is my cousin that lives in Dallas. He flew me out there last weekend and I ending up putting in a MSD 6AL, an Edelbrock 600 and tuning and tweaking, got the engine running GREAT! I think he was impressed...

    AOD swap for C4?

Has anyone here installed an AOD in place of their C4? Am considering this for another project I have started. Also, can it be swapped in and the original shifter be used or will it have to be modified, or is there an aftermarket shifter that will let me keep the original console. Main goal...

    Engine backfiring (long)

Well, here's some other info. Just normal putting around, it doesn't backfire and spit and sputter. Only under full throttle does it do this. It is definatley backfiring thru the exhaust, not back thru the intake. I also suspect the cam might not have been installed properly, so will check...

    Engine backfiring (long)

Was in Dallas TX this weekend for Cotton Bowl (GO REBELS!!) and stayed with a cousin that has a 65 Convertable that has been converted properly to a V8. Anyways, I want to make sure I am on track here. Every since he got the car back from the engine rebuild, the engine bogs bad off the line...

Have custom wheels and lowering? post pic!

Well, a few things come to mind. In order to put 17 x 12's on rear, you can get airshocks and/or shackles get that rear end high enough to clear the 4 or 5 inches of tire that is gonna stick out :notnice: :notnice: :notnice: or you can tub the car, which will require narrowing the rear...
