    There is a difference between a deep look and just shine though. Anytime you add any colors to black, it changes the depth or tint of the color. If you want depth, dump the clear on.

    Dupont jet-black... 3 base coats, then 6 deep coats of clear. Prep/post paint, wetsand, blocking and buffing are where the real skill comes in. Tim

    I used Dupont jet-black, base coat/clear coat. As long as there at no other color additives in it, your prep and post work is where the paint will get its deep luster. Tim
