I know im not answering your question, but im just curious...do you currently have an 8" under your car? If so why are you wanting the 8.8? Are you getting it for free or already have it?

Help With Vents Behind The Hood

Another thought would be go from the inside....if you have that much crap in your cowl you more than likely have it all in your fresh air vent and heater box anyway...remove the fresh air vent and heater assebly and you can clean them out....if the cowl is not rusted through this shouldnt be too...

    302 to 306 and carb

I'm still hung up on that carburetor, i have never seen/heard of a 500 cfm 4 barrel holley....they make a 500cfm 2bbl....id bet a shiney new penny you have a 600 cfm 4160 (the most common holley 4bbl ever made) on top of your engine there. Anyway, 500 or 600, its still a vaccum secondary and...

Help With Vents Behind The Hood

Its way too easy to just pull the fender....i can have my fender off in 20 minutes and it will be way easier to work with...might want to go ahead and get some new splash shields and do some cleanup beneath there while you're at it.

Putting emblems on aftermarket hood? Can?

You can do anything you want with a little imagination. What I would try to do is find a template for the original hood (or find an original hood and make my own template) and just line it up where you want it on your new hood and drill out the holes.....OR you can grind off the pegs and glue...

    Another Radio Question

I bought the retrosound radio, and i like the way it has a universal mounting system...the "shafts" of the radio are actually on wires, so you can set them in any dash, but come with the proper settings for your application. The actual radio unit itself is very compact too, maybe 5" deep by 4"...

    Front Coil Springs Install Help

The shock is easy, you just drop it in from the top (you have to remove the export braces first) You shouldnt need the engine or anything, its probably easier without it, more room to move about. I would also leave the upper control arm loose when putting my springs in, gives you a little extra...

    Front Coil Springs Install Help

If they are 620 rated springs you shouldnt need to compress them. Have you removed the spring covers off of the inside fender well? You ought to be able to slip the spring up in there and get it seated on the perch without any special tools. The originals had to be compressed to be removed, but...

    302 to 306 and carb

306 is just a bored out 302 (.030) nothing fancy. Need to know more about the internals of the car to really suggest a carb...but an 1100 is definately WAAAAY to much. The 500 is probably a good carb for it, but being a mechanical secondary, double pumper its probably not the best for fuel...

    Floor pan(s) install

Darn, was hoping i had a fellow mustang enthusiast nearby to help me when i needed another hand or two! But glad to see you got out while the getting was good! Anyway...the drivers is probably the harder of the two to replace, you got the steering column, ebrake cable hole, etc....How about your...

    Will Carb Spacer help?

    Interior Sealant?

I shaved my cowl as well....the passenger side was in good shape, but the drivers side was pretty rusted out, i cut out the rot from beneath and shaved the top...its a slick look...some like it, some dont, just make sure you get the rust out. And as far as it being a structural component, thats...

Radiators and cooling problems my observations

I concur that you definately have a flow problem...but I still can't make the math work to where a 4 row has more tube to fin contact per row than the 2.....heres my math, someone please correct me if im wrong: the 4 row has 3/8 rows x 4 = 1.5" of area for tube to fin contact. the 2 row has 1"...

    Floor pan(s) install

I put the same thing in my car....i left as much of the tranny tunnel as i could and notched around the seatbelt hole. Also I put my toe board in a vice and bent that side lip upward so I could weld it from the inside. As far as the mounting holes go....these things are made by the lowest bidder...

    Will Carb Spacer help?

First thing you need to make sure is that its vapor lock and not something else, like maybe your starter is old and gets weak when it gets hot....it happens. Also your timing may need adjustment. If you do find out that it is vapor lock then a spacer may help. If you have a dual plane intake...
