    4.6 3v and 5.4 3v heads the same?

Does anyone know if the 4.6 and 5.4 3v heads are the same, and are they interchangeable? If they are what year 5.4 vehicles are the 5.4 3v heads available on? Thanks for any help with this, I'm looking for a set of 3v heads.

Where to get a set of used 3v heads?

Friend of mine wants a set of 3v heads to port to upgrade a Mustang. I've looked around but can't seem to find any. Any suggestions?

289 hipo heads vs. 302 heads

Like someone said - "Get AFR 165's and sell the HiPo heads to someone who needs them for a restoration".

    351 Cleveland Torque Specs

What is the thread style and type and what is the bolt tensile strength (170,000, 190,000,0r 220,000)? I remember the flywheel being ~75lbs. Don't remember the cam thrust plate. Give me the info above and I'll get you the answer. Are you using ARP bolts?

    Went to the strip tonight.

I hate to say it but I think those D00E heads aren't a great investment. You should not have any piston to valve issues with that cam. I ran a 230/235 @ .050 duration cam with no problems. A set of AFR 165's is the way to go. I believ they are 1.90 or 1.94 valves.

 Glad you figured it out!

    Ticking, smoking

I’d be shocked if that ticking isn’t the headers. An exhaust leak will sound exactly like a bad lifter or valve. Are the headers getting red hot after you drive it? That is a sure sign of the engine running too leanly. It might be time to upgrade to 4 barrel…..that is a good thing. Check the...

New engine isnt sounding too good yet

With the engine popping like that the first thing I would do is put a timing light on it to see where it is. It could be way off. Next, are the plugs burning too leanly? Take a look at them and let us know. Popping like that can be a sign of a lean condition also. How is the exhaust burning...

what carb would you put on this set up?

The Holley 700DP would be really nice on that engine. Never heard of secondaries being locked up, return it and get the 700.

Did the 9" Versaill rear end swap: never hooked up parking brake.....need help!

Yea, mine is missing. That is what I am struggling with. I need to get a bracket and the right length spring to fit between the adjustment lever on the caliper and the bracket that is missing. I think I may have to fabricate one or maybe I can find one at a junkyard. Maybe a good brake shop...

I need help building my 351C

Well, the XE284 is a very stout cam, particularly for a flat hydraulic cam. Your vehicle will have a rough idle and be quite grumpy. It isn't what I would call a street cam, unless you consider street driving a drag strip. That cam is o.k. if you have a 3000+ stall convertor (or manual tranny)...

granada disc brake swap to 67 mustang

OZ: How did the parking brake hook-up work on your rear brakes? Did you have to buy specific springs or hardware?. Also, did you buy a "power brake" brake pedal and replace the original manual brake pedal? I also had a 4 wheel drum brake set-up on my '69 but switched to Stainless Steel Corp...

Did the 9" Versaill rear end swap: never hooked up parking brake.....need help!

Bobv: Question - it seems that the brake cable and spring are attached to a bracket the break adjustment lever. Actually, that the spring is in between them; did you fabricate the bracket that is in front of the caliper?

Did the 9" Versaill rear end swap: never hooked up parking brake.....need help!

Bobv: Thank you for the information, it is extremely helpful. I will track down the Lokar hardware for my vehicle. I'm glad to see someone else has actually done it. BTW - nice workmanship, that set-up looks beautiful. Thanks again.

Did the 9" Versaill rear end swap: never hooked up parking brake.....need help!

I didn't mention it in my post at the top, but the problem I'm having is attaching the end of the cables to the disc brake adjustment bracket. My rear brakes got so out of adjustment that I had to pull off the calipers last night and turn the pistons by hand with a wrench to get then readjusted...

Did the 9" Versaill rear end swap: never hooked up parking brake.....need help!

Guys, After swapping out my 8” for a Versaille 9” rear end I realized that re-installing the foot/parking brake was not going to be a stock situation. The problem revolves around the fact that I replaced a set of drum brakes with disc brakes. Has anybody on the forum done the drum to disc or...

I need help building my 351C

Stick with the heads that you have but get them ported and upgraded. Don't run with those stock valves they are 2 piece and tend to seperate at higher RPM's and destroy the engine. For a 400+HP motor that is very streetable I would recommend the following – 750 Holley, Blue Thunder intake...
