Looking at another II to buy

He wanted $ 1000.00 for it with a 289, $600.00 without the engine.Trans had a big bell on it and the tunnel was clubbed to hell & back. *UPDATE* called last nite, it was sold. But now I found an 80 muzzy that is straight with 80,000 miles! I know it is not a II but parts are easy to find.

Looking at another II to buy

I had seen an ad in the local paper for a 78 T-top mustang:shrug: 3 weeks went by and I bit. The lady on the phone said it did not run. I went to see it last nite. Pretty rough, but it comes with a truckfull of spare parts. A complete set of x-tra glass--good hatch--cobra hood--an x-tra 8"...

    Electric Water Pump??

I ran one on my 460 pro street mustang. Only because it would heat up when cruizing because of the low gearing .I think the water was going through the radiator too quickly. Once installed all was fine and it worked well. I also liked the fact that I could stop and cool it down if I had to

Two trails of rubber from my II, thought I had an open rear.

My open rear in my 74 sometimes spun both. I bet if you get some traction ,or try launching from a different location it will revert back to single wheel squeel ,unless it is in fact a posi.Spin one tire ( off ground) the other will spin opposite(open). If it is a posi, then they both will...

    76 Mustang II Transmission leaking

Grab the driveshaft at the yoke ( towards tailshaft). See how much play is there. If you can move it side to side and up and down, the bushing is worn. Most trannys have a bronze bushing that never seems to get replaced( even during rebuilds) once worn they allow too much play. So much that no...

bought some parts for the cobra

Holley carbs are for performance and edelbrock carbs are for driveability. Brian, if your combo does not make enough HP. I can sell you the stroker out of the cobra clone for a fair price. If I had it to do over I would go with the demon.

    The II's at Carlisle!

:D :D :D Wow, what a fun weekend. Walking around, Mike, Scott and Myself came across more II parts than we ever have. Think the tides are changing? Let's hope so. Anyway, we had a better spot on the field and got alot more exposure I feel. Tons of good comments. The most common being "...

About to pull the trigger on this King Cobra...

"The owner doesn't know anything about cars . It was like this when he bought it." This is what I was going by for my 2 cents. Sorry bout the scoop theory, my bag.

About to pull the trigger on this King Cobra...

Wow 5 lug , I missed that one. The hood scoop is also facing the wrong way,for a 78 cobra/king. Who is to say that with the mods someone did not change the buck tag??? Heck one screw and you can have a KC?? I was thinking the $ 2000.00 range with a max of $ 2500.00. Kinda tough without seeing...

About to pull the trigger on this King Cobra...

Looks as though it is not even a cobra. Has a woodgrain dash, and chrome bezels as you mentioned. Only way to tell is the bucktag or running the vin #.In the end , I would say it is worth what you are willing to pay?

    Fuel Cell Pictures?

You mention having the same roll cage. Is yours installed the same as little elenor? I am wondering what the rear portion ( @ the rear hatch area)is mounted to. It seems as though it is too wide ,and far back, to be mounted to the frame rails. I have a 12 gallon foam filled cell in mine that I...

"i dont understand this whole thing with the 8.8 its a crap setup. the 8in is just as strong and can be made pretty much bullet proof if your gonna waste your time fitting an 8.8 in your II your a fool. you will spend less money and time installing a 9 inch.. Well I guess I have a...
