    Flowmaster Super 40 Install!

    Anyone know if those Super 40's are noticeably quieter than Mac mufflers? I'm thinking of swapping mine out... looking for something just a little quieter than the Macs and with a nice tone. I know flows usually sound good but I don't know which version to go with...

    I'm having the same problem with my car at the moment, and believe me, it's more than irritating enough to make one want to bust out a fatty and just forget about it... :rlaugh: Legalize... I'm assuming you still have the stock clutch cable & quadrant? If so, try pulling up on the clutch...

    Cheap 3:55's??

    Pretty sure Explorers came with 3.55's and 3.73's alike... a guy near me sells low mileage OEM gears for like $75, apparently he buys them from Ford dealerships for even less than that... He was telling me that the dealers get people coming in every now and then complaining of their rear...

    Next on my list is a system.

    I agree with sunil6784... run at least a 4 gauge main power wire, and make sure it's fused no further than 16" from the battery. Then run it to a distrbution block, and then use at least 8 gauge wires going to each amp. If your amps don't have built in fuses I'd consider a fused distribution...

    which thermostat do you recommend?

    I'm running the Mr. Gasket 180* stat as well with no problems. With a Griffin 31x19" 2 row rad, stock clutch fan, and a 50/50 coolant mix the stock gauge almost never moves from 1/3 up.

    Custom Ramcharger fan harness questions...

    It'd definately be cool to have a writeup/diagram for the harness on those fans... I've basically been hoping someone else would do it first so I don't have to. :D I'll probably buy a RC eventually and I don't like paying for something I can make either...

    Real, real deep, weak sounding exaust?

    I have the Mac Flowpath & their O/R H pipe as well, it's deep, but not as deep as you describe. I'm almost certain the Mac mufflers are chambered, like Flowmasters. Maybe some of the baffles have blown out? Lately I'm wondering if exhaust pops from the car running rich might have screwed up...

    I would use the 303 or Meguiars' Natural Shine, definately two of the better protectants out there and both are fairly low gloss.

    Sounds like similar mileage and condition to my car. Around here, clean, stock, low mileage 5.0's go for 4500-6000. Red interior isn't that desireable, but red paint is IMO.

    Yes, yet another FWA/clutch cable/quadrant question... sorry. :D Mine is kind of an odd one though. Is it possible to install a firewall adjuster when still using the stock clutch quadrant? I was just driving along the other day when my shifter became near impossible to get into all gears...
