Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

Good choice on car, color, and spoiler delete. That will be a beautiful car.

Stick vs. Auto (not that again!)

Definitely get what you want and make no apologies for it. They will both be fun to drive--guaranteed. Personally I went for the 5 speed, and I live in Atlanta where the traffic is almost as bad as LA. I was afraid I would get tired of shifting, but it's been the opposite. I love the feel of...

    Not-pretty Mustangs

I think we have a new fun thread here: Mustang Mods outside the box. Obviously the stang brings out the "creativity" in car owners unlike most other models. The Yankee stang is ok, but please--no Mets Mustang--that would be vandalism!

    Trunk swap for spoiler delete

I ordered my 05 vert spoiler delete and it came w/ a spoiler anyway. I had to bitch a lot, but the dealer ordered a GT spoiler delete, and when it came in they just swapped trunklids. If you know someone at a dealer you might be able to try a swap like that.

    Lingerie

There was discussion on these masks a few months back, and I seem to remember that one brand of film was better than the other. Apparently there was a yellowing problem w/ one of the brands. Anyone have the scoop on the best brand?

Well done! Maybe a shaker hood if your bonus is good.

    ridiculous MSRP markups???

CA is the problem; $10 k over is invoice is a joke. They probably want it for show until the end of the month. Come get one in GA & ship it back. I ordered 2 gt verts on x-plan w/ no real problem. I had to take a few no's, but it wasn't that hard. I didn't buy both, but dealership didn't care.

i never want to feel this again

You know Sanctus, after all your talk about how mature you are and deserving of a new GT, it took you less than a week to wreck your father's new vert. I know, I know--it wasn't your fault; it couldn't be avoided, etc, etc. Just the facts sir: you're 16; you wrecked your dad's new vert in...

    2006 tungsten 18" wheels

I'm 6'5" and I fit great in mine, but it's a vert. My salesman was telling me about how they can move the seat rails around to fit bigger drivers. Are they just re-positioning the seat rails further back? I also heard they can make the seat lower somehow. I have a 3rd car which let's me...

    2006 tungsten 18" wheels

Nice!--that's my new favorite color. White stripes look very good on tungsten in case you're ready to start the mods. What interior? 5sp or auto? Daily driver or weekender?

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

KAUS-if you are going to order an 06 stang hold out for x-plan price. I wanted an 05 on x-plan, and several dealers laughed at me, but it was pretty easy to find 2 different dealers to take x-plan on an order. One didn't even want a deposit. If you have to have one off a dealer lot then MSRP...

    Wheel Hop and Squeaky Brakes

Red Pony-when was yours built? My 05 was manuf in may/deliv in june, and I have no brake squeal and very little to no wheel hop. I don't really drop the clutch that much, but I do accelerate hard often w/ little problem. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Some pics of my Street Scene kit/spoiler.

Kris-I like that spoiler a lot. Any thoughts on how that spoiler treatment would look on a vert? You're pretty good at visualizing cars, and I have a gt vert w/o any spoiler. I'm considering whether to leave it as is or add an after mkt one like yours.

    I hate my dad

Waah; I hope you realize what a fantasy land your parents are allowing you to play in. Repay them by acting like an adult.

How about a LX Mustang for 07 ??

I agree; I would rather see the price rise somewhat and Ford address the many cheap details that were compromised by their goal of a 27 k GT. The 16 year olds will have V-6's available for 19 k that they can mod to their heart's content.

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

KAUS-you bring up a good point on the bulk of the stang. You get used to it, but it does feel bigger than it actually is. In spite of the bulky feel I like the handling, and the fixed rear axle hasn't been much of a problem.

    Opinions: Mustang's worst feature

Are you cupholder complainers aware of the secret false bottom you can remove from the larger holder to make it fit bigger drinks-someone here informed us of that--I don't put drinks in it, but it makes a better place for your cell and sunglasses. How about a thread on pleasant surprises the...

Problems with taking the top down-vert

I'd take it in; you don't want to be out in a downpour when that top decides to stay down. I've got 1400 mi on mine and no problems like that.

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

Both cars are unique looking; which one will age better? I say the stang since the look has been w/ us in various forms since the mid 60's, and we still like it. I find myself stopping after I walk away in a parking lot just to admire its looks. I'm sure the RX8 is superior in handling...
