Higher octane gas on Coyote 5.0

Ford specifies the use of 91 octane for the new 5.0. If your car is stock, or only has minor modifications, you will just waste your money by using 105 octane in it. Using higher than needed octane may even make it run worse, the most common side effect being hard starts. This applies to all...

car idle is off after replacing the battery???

What jpplaw posted is correct, but it should also be stated the concern is aggravated by high mileage with a worn and/or excessively dirty throttle body. The idle strategy will eventually cure itself, but if you are impatient you can try cleaning the throttle body.

the infamous "cam position sensor" code NEED HELP!!!

If the alternator has a major failure NAPA and other parts stores would find that easily. However they are not equipped or trained to do in depth testing as called for in the TSB I mentioned which would give you a definitive answer as to whether your alternator is the cause of your problem or...

the infamous "cam position sensor" code NEED HELP!!!

Ford has a TSB for this concern which has you check the alternator diode pattern using an oscilloscope. A faulty alternator can cause excess RFI which reaks havoc with the PCM. Since you already replaced the CMP sensor on bank 1 (passenger side), I'd say it's a good bet the the alternator is...

Thinking about a tuner for my 11 GT

I didn't mean to suggest that the 5.0 is running on the ragged edge. I only meant it is closer than previous Ford engines are in stock form to that edge. All its going to take is a slight air/fuel ratio miscalculation, spark advance miscalculation, VCT error, and/or some detonation and you might...

Thinking about a tuner for my 11 GT

There is of course one alternative. Use a Ford Racing Performance Parts tune instead. Ford can't void your warranty if you use their own products.

    2012 mustang gt idle problem

Sounds like some kind of contaminant got on the MAF sensor and has since fixed itself. I have seen this many times, especially with after market CAI's. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again and/or the check engine lamp comes on.

Thinking about a tuner for my 11 GT

There is a new TSB from Ford that anyone thinking of modifying their 5.0 coyote should read. Basically these engines completely stock are running a lot closer to the ragged edge than any Ford motor in the past has. Because of this Ford is cracking down on engine failures where there is evidence...
