    I negotiated painted on stripes as part of the deal with my new car. When it comes in the body shop is painting on black ones for $350. I assume this is their cost or something. It was a deal-maker for the sale of the vehicle, so i'm sure they're not too choked about it. :nice:

    that would be hideously ugly, but nope, a lot of people are getting that error that have IUP. Mine is Yellow w/black so i think i'm good. lol :nice:

    i ordered on 11/17 (dealer submitted on 11/23 though) Yellow GT premium, shaker 1000, manual, IUP, Upgrade wheels w/locking, side airbags & anti-theft. i can't wait till it gets here!!! i don't mind waiting toooo much, we have massive amounts of snow here (sun valley, idaho) until around april. :D

    short throw shifter in '05

    Anyone done one of these yet? I'm new to the world of manual transmissions (my 99 is an auto, but the GT i have on order will be manual) and i want to put steeda's tri axe shifter in the new one... what exactly is involved with doing this? I assume i will need experienced help with installing...

    if you already have a build date you should be fine. Those of us who are unlucky enough not to have one, have been changed to "compatibility error"

    i have the same error. Keep checking on it i guess, they update the systems every thursday, so check for updates on friday. I'm thinking that those of us with the error wont get built till at least Feb.

    i don't understand why people are getting so pissy about Ford taking a vacation. If you were working really hard earning a living making cars for people that just *can't* wait an extra 2 weeks for no logical reason other than that they want that car *right now* wouldn't you want a vacation...

    Jody at Goode Motors in Burley, Idaho sold me my ordered '05 mustang (gt prem, manual, loaded) at $200 over invoice (thats with no plan things either!), they are also throwing in stripes painted on, in their body shop, for $350.     yeah, that was one reason why i bought the car from this dealer, because they took the painted stripe price down so low. That was the selling point on the car for me... plus, i'm only paying $200 over invoice. woo. :D It's a really small dealer, so they are pretty desperate to do any business.

    mine will be painted on upon arrival of my car. That was part of the car negotiations. I will be paying $350 for them. Another dealer quoted me $1295 though that could be a load of crap?

    O/T What do you do for a living

    I'm a purchasing agent for a commercial plumbing/hydronics (snowmelting) company. We do all those huge mechanical rooms and snowmelt systems at all the big resorts/rich people's houses/airports/schools/city buildings around here. It's actually a really interesting job. :nice:

    Dependability/Durability of the 3.8?

    my '99 has 170,000 miles on it, and i have not done a damn thing to it in the way of matinence besides oil changes (and only every 5,000 miles cuz' i'm weird like that and don't think it needs them sooner), it got a new engine fan at one point, and a tune up at 100k, but it has NEVER broken down...
