    Difference in engine bay 69 vs. 70

    Ask them where the difference is. I am not aware of any and I've had a few 69s and two 70s since 79. The only issue I'm aware of is the nonavailability of 351C in 69 which is why I always state its for a 70 whenever I buy engine parts. I've never had a problem.

    1969 Mustang Cowl Panel

    The rear of the cowl panel tucks under the lower windshield molding. Dense foam blocks glued to the top of the cowl support the panel. And you already know that the front edge is screwed to the body.

    The competition plus hurst shifter was standard on 70s with the 4sp toploader. I've never had a problem reaching mine and I'm not that tall either. Shifting through the gears including reverse has always been comfortable.

    Q1. I've always had that problem with mine. It seemed to have an issue with vapor-lock (heat soak through the intake). The other suggestions will definately help though since your cable is getting hot.
