    Mustangs and Fords Magazine

I'm not at all happy with the merge. I like all years but my main interest is the classics. There are no other mags dedicated to the classics other than Mustang Monthly and they don't cater to the modifying crowd. I've been a long time subscriber to M&F and enjoyed their dedication to the...

    Identifiying 4V heads

Windsors don't have the same markings. Not sure if there is any difference between 2V & 4V windsor heads, maybe valve size?

    69 coupe roof styles

Do you have the wide trim that goes around the back glass? That's the only reason I can think of why they won't fit unless you have the wrong year of trim. I had a 69 with vinyl top once. It had the black moulding. I don't have any pics that show any detail though.

What happened to the Unique Performance Thread?

Couldn't you have deleted his content and left the thread? I thought I went nuts. I responded but I thought I was losing it when I didn't see the thread again. I started scouring the other forums I frequent looking for my response. I thought I might have responded on another board.

    A Hitch For a 70 Mustang?

I'm with you. I want to pull a teardrop type trailer behind mine when its done. I plan on fabbing one for mine. My first 69 I had in high school had a light duty hitch on it.

what does it take to make a 69 a cobra jet

The "cobrajet" & "super cobrajet" were the perfomance level of the 428 engines and later in 429 engines. A mustang with the cobrajet scoop doesn't make it a cobrajet either. The scoop was an option on most 69s and didn't carry the cobrajet name unless it came equipped with the 428CJ or 428SCJ.

Anyone with a 69-70 fastback? Need a picture

I don't have any pics but there should be a thin piece of stainless trim against the body and a track that the weatherstrip sits in on top of that. Screws and sealant hold the pieces in place and the weatherstrip is glued in the track and secured at the ends with a screw at each end.

    windsor or cleveland?

I've had both in my current 69 and I can say the difference is night and day. To be fair the C engine is mildly built and the W was bone stock. The C is by no means a slouch in the torque department. Best I can figure is that because it performs so well at higher rpms, people expect the lower...

Why would anybody drive a new Stang in road salt...

I've driven many a mustang year round, not all of them beaters either. As for driving a new one in the winter, 1 - like Skywalker said, they may not have a choice (it might be their only car) and 2 - If I had a new one, I'd drive it for several reasons but mostly because I'm not going to pay...

God help me: Removing Side Scoops on 69 Coupe

There are 3 studs and nuts holding the forward edge of the scoop and 3 or 4 (can't remember) holding the rear edge. Otherwise, what bnickel said.

    DIY Painting Opinions Wanted

I would do the roller paint job before ever considering a paint job at Maaco or Earl Scheib. At least you control the quality which those places lack. Inexpensive paint don't necessarily mean cheap paint. Industrial (not the household) enamel may be better than automotive single stage enamel...

I've been looking for panel latches with an aircraft flavor. Those look like what I've had in mind.

    NPD Boss 429 hood scoop

Jerry, Good quality fiberglass parts seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I've contemplated glass parts for my car. There doesn't seem to be many choices though and considering the quality issues I've read on these forums and others that its pretty much a crap-shoot when buying. I'm...
