Lopey idle on startup, possible causes?

It only happens within the first few minutes of starting it. Idle will surge from 1500 and drop down to below 600. It actually stalled itself yesterday. Forgive my ignorace, but a lot was done to the car before I bought it, including a cam, and I am not certain which cam it has. After a few...

Is it possible to succesfully replace Windshield at home?

Get the pro's to do it. It isn't much more expensive and you get a warranty. It will leak if you attempt it. The goo from the autoparts stores is fairly crappy. All windshields these days use hot urethane. Play the pricing game, you should be able to get them to come out and install it for under...

Any Problems with Armor All Protectant?

Actually, many of the older dashes would warp and crack over the years anyway. When I am working on changing windshields, I can tell people that armorall because they cant reach all the way down the dash. The places the armorall hits look very nice and still seem new, the places they miss are...

    Wheel question

17"s should fit. Depending on how wide your rubber, you should check for possible rubbing, especially on the rear. Though the sizes you gave should have no problem. Take into account it will throw your speedo off a tad possibly with the increased rim size.

to cut my doors? and system setup

always use an inline fuse as a last safety measure. Though you don't need a fuse distrubution block per say, I would use that as well, for safety and just in good practice. As far as cutting your doors, I would try to make a bezel out of maybe 3/4" mdf in the correct size and sitting the speaker...

    HELP!!!!!!!

wouldn't it be possible to solder over the aluminum radiator as well? Copper would be cake, but I'm not certain on the Al. one. JB weld is some amazing stuff, it held my friends tailpipe on for over a year, even with a ton of vibration.

How do you replace Qt. window weathersrip on a Vert?

You can't, it is an encapsulated peice, which means the rubber comes molded onto the 1/4 windows. Even working for an autoglass company, and discounted beyond belief, they are still expensive. Hell I got my windshield for 75 bucks, and I still can't get the 1/4 windows for less then 175 each.

    Fiberglass smell in car...

Take the box out, and let the box sit outside in the sun 2-3 days. It will bake the smell off. Also vaccuum the car, get all fiberglass dust/residue out. Then you probably will want to air out the car a few days. As long as you didn't use too low of a mixture of hardening agent, the smell will...

    car mp3 players??

Meh I bought the aiwa one the second it came out like 5 years ago. I love it. I will never go back to regular cd's. I burn 300+ songs onto a cd in data format and can listen to hours of music no problem. I personally like kenwood excelon mp3 headunits. They have some nice features my aiwa one...

    Rear Axle Play??

Well, finally got it diagnosed, turns out it was a misbalanced driveshaft. I have a new aluminum driveshaft on order from summit racing right now. Lets hope that fixes all the problems.

Interior painting how-to for fox body?

The citadel paint is acrylic, water based. I used to paint those models too, and it chips fairly easy. Most acrylic does. The color does stay nice forever though, and holds up with some clears. You need to prime stuff to use that. For black and white use rustoleum appliance epoxy spray. It...

    Window Motors

WD-40 is your friend. The white plastic cover is just a moisture shield to keep moisture in the door, it can be removed if you want. Spray wd-40 in the track mechanism and it will take some of the stress off the motor. It is probably the motor or the connections to it, once your door panel is...

how to roll rear fender lips?

Yeah, get a body shop to do it. Whomever did mine (my guess is 2 people) screwed one up. It looks like a master did it on the drivers side, its perfect. On the passenger side, there are at least 4 creases. Happened before I bought it, now Im trying to figure out the easiest way to fix it.

Best way to remove a decal from a window?

I worked for a graphics company, and an autoglass company now.;) Flame is fine, just don't heat any 1 area of the glass too long. Tempered parts (back and side glass) can take a fair ammount of heat. You dont want to burn the graphics, just heat them so they are pliable. If they are very old...

    Car smell

clean everything with rubbing alcohol, it removes a lot of the smoke deposits, may clean up the smell a bit. Your main problems are the carpet and headliner. Remove them and steam clean em (probably not the headliner, steam will melt the glue, just vacuum that.

    side emblems

Mine didn't have the holes, the way mine came off was using high pressure warm water from the presurized car wash, aim it directly down on the glue, not hte body, and it takes em right off.

    window seal product

dont do it yourself if you never have done it. We use Sika Urethane, and a battery caulk gun, since its a hot urethane. If you mess up, it gets EVERYWHERE and is near impossible to get out of cloth especially. Once it is dry, it will never come out of clothing or seats and such. I know, I...

    1/4 window moulding covers

Im using high strength epoxy appliance paint from home depot, like 4 bucks a can, a couple coats. It makes a high gloss black that is very hard to chip and looks great.
