Just so everyone knows. Radar Detectors do not keep you from getting a ticket. The radars that the police are using are monetary, they flip them on and track whoever, then flip them back off. We learned about how they work in the academy, hopefully when we get further along we will learn to use...
the efi distributor has electronics that attach to it. To my knowledge, you cannot use a carb dizzy on an EFI motor since there is no electronics, but I could be wrong.
I believe that this is your problem. I am having mine replaced tomorrow. I am also tired of starting my car with a screwdriver. The part itself cost me $11.20 with tax from ford.
The part will be different depending on your year. Ford can look it up. It is the Ignition Actuator.
my ignition is doing the same thing. I have traced it down to the acutator assembly. They always brake so it will not let the ignition switch on the colum start the car. I am having mine replaced this weekend. The part itself is only 10.00 from Ford.
Then you may want to look into a stronger block, the 302 is rated to hold 650 i believe. Maybe a four bolt main block. Or if thats too far out of budget look into getting a DSS racing block. The DSS level 10 and 20 blocks come bored .030 over already.
You first need to decide what the car is going to be used for street, strip. or street/strip. You need to think about what horsepower you are lloking to make. There are a lot of people here on the site that can help you put the motor together, but there is a lot more than just deciding to stroke...
I have the ford racing one and after a year it developed a hole. I had one in my other car and never had a problem with it. It all depends on how much your willing to spend.
THe crank rods and pistons are different. A 331 uses a 5.4 rod with a 3.25 stroke. I believe that the stock 302 crank uses a different stroke, but im not sure what it is.
We have a new problem with this. Driving down the road the running the car if you let off after first the check engine light will come on, but if you tap the gas or the brakes it goes off. Any help?
I had that problem, you can go to Advance Auto parts or your local speed shop and buy covers to get over your plug wires I have them on mine. They are made almost the same as the header wrap.
