    Thermostat ?

    180 for me my car ran with stock thermostat Autometer gauge. 195-215. So I put a 180 in it and it ran 180-190. By the way. At over 200 your oil is starting to try to cool the motor down also. This is hard on your motor and oil and makes hp go down. Go with a 180

    We all make mistakes but to make yours better you hung in there 100% and kept at it to find what you did wrong. I'm not laughing at you by no means. Yes you will have some smartass probably will but atleast you learned something.I'm glad you found it and don't hammer it to much when you get it...

    Whats the most power anyone ever got out of a h/c/i setup? stock bottom.

    Even thought it was carbed. I went from 13.299(all cylinders) to 12.6(on 7 cylinders) with F cam Edelbrock RPM heads and an Edelbrock RPM airgap intake.

    Are you sure that the oil pump is miving freely when you put the distributor back in?

    Edelbrock Question

    I had a 8011 weiland and it made a big difference when I went to my performer RPM air gap. 3/10ths or more. it was alot hotter with the rpm so not really sure. BTW- I'm selling mine since I went with a windsor.

    Pin on Cowl Hood Suggestions

    I bought my car with a lift off hood. He said he had a guy bend a 1/8 piece of steel bolted it on the firewall where the normal brackets would have been. Then he put the hood on and measured and measured then drilled the hood. He then marked the steel plates and drilled those holes.

    I'm glad to see you guys are telling him oil temp. I never had this until one day I drove a friends car. 10 minutes of driving hard and the oil temp was way high and did a dyno on this and lost 25-35 rear wheel hp. I was like WOW. The oil pressure is a must and water temp.

    IMHO I don't think when your talking the horsepower you have and more I would go with a center force dual friction clutch. I loved mine and there is no spongy in it either. Its either in or out of gear can't ride the clutch to much unless your trying it. Holds and holds even when it gets hot. 20...

    I had double of the minumium I think and when I checked mine I bolted it down to 65 ft lbs without a head gasket either.

    I know this wasn't the question but anyhow. I had a stock bottom end and I had a F cam with performer RPM heads with 1.90/1.60 valves and I didn't have no troubles at all.
