    Progress report.

My EFI conversion is going slowly, too much work to on other areas of the car is slowing me down. I borrowed a digital camera and took some photos of where I am at on the car. I have around 1/2 of each inner fender cleaned, rust free and primered, and I have 70% of the firewall where I want...

New toy to use on the II

I spent more on my respirator than I did my compressor and media blaster combined.. The G/F says I need to get some sense and start spending more on her than "crap and accessories" she thinks the ticket for the respirator is the total for the respirator, blaster, media, filter, ect.

New toy to use on the II

Tired of hand sanding, and working around the corners and contours with my DA in the engine bay I broke down and bought a cheap (small) media blaster. Oh dear god this thing is helpful. in less than 3 hours I had stripped 30 years of rust and paint from areas I couldn't get to with my DA and...

Beginning to work on converting my car to EFI

I would like to invite everyone who has done this conversion, interested in this conversion, or working on it at this moment to please contribute to, edit, revise, the EFI conversion HOWTO on the wiki. I have just reworked the article and I am about to start adding new material to it myself...

Beginning to work on converting my car to EFI

This post applies only to Ford EEC-IV systems: Non mustang harnesses can use the mustang (ECU) computer along with a cam that uses the correct firing order. The non mustang harnesses often feature different connectors than their mustang counter parts (except for the ECU connector). I am using...

Beginning to work on converting my car to EFI

In my project, progressing but no pics till I can repair/replace the camera, I found the intake is better routed the opposite of how you are doing it, this allows for the use of 87-95 5.0 stang parts w/ less hassle. You can use the later model mustang throttle cable, throttle cable bracket...

where does the tach signal come from??

The tach signal comes from the ground side of the coil. Your ignition module should have a tach port you can run the tach to. you may require an MSD, or similar, tach adapter in order to make the tach work properly.

    $%#@ headdamns !!!!

You maybe able to box it to restore the strength, but just grinding the clearence would weaken it too much in my experience. I have a double hump tranny cross member off the car right now I could take pictures and/or measurements of if you need a reference for fabrication.

II Oil Pan on an H.O. Block -- Dipstick Location?

Most 302/5.0 and 351W timming covers are similar and interchangable. There are two notable exceptions to this which would be the explorer and 94-95 mustang 5.0 covers. The late model timming covers (escluding the two mentioned above) can be drilled (do so with care) to accept a dipstick if...

    IIwikid

I have a number of projects going on an any given time, and not all of them are automotive related. However in an effort to give back to the Mustang II community that has helped me in the past I have started to create a resource that hopefully the entire community can contribute to and benefit...

Fuel injection motor heads on carb motor?

First off, if you don't need to change the cam, lifters, pushrods, or dizzy gear unless you want to run a roller cam. Secondly while I am a big fan of aftermarket heads, I do not like their price tag and can get good E7s for around $100 a pair. I am pretty sure thats a factor in THE78II's...

    EFI mock up.

nmk80: I know who you are, and bad girl posting a pic knowing I didn't want images put up until I could do some more work. The clearance issue comes about because the TPS and vaccume port on the TB just barely touches the hood. This could be an engine angle problem (no transmission so I...

Fuel injection motor heads on carb motor?

They should work, and if they are E7TE or GT40 castings they should be be better than the originals. As with any head swap you should always check your piston to valve clearance.
