How many miles on your S197?

June 2005 car bought November 2005 and still less than 8000 on the clock but blame the British weather...

    Drone sound clip?

In a normal car, you won't experience drone. I first learnt about drone in a Corvette C4. It's like the sound of a squadron of B52 bombers just over your shoulder like you hear in old war films. It can be quite a pleasurable resonance and can often be controlled by lifting the throttle slightly...

    Pics of 2010 COBRA!!!

Looks to have some very chunky rear meats and the trademark Shelby splitter too. I'd say the front valance flares out more and the bottom intake has a pronounced recess too.

    Installed some new goodies today...

Looks real good. I really like the way your car is going. I've just got the Legend splitter which I hope to fit soon and the painted Cervini lower side ducts although the paint around the edges was disappointing and needs some work before I get to fitting those.

    White smoke on startup?

Steam hangs in the air too. It'll be water but obviously mixed with your exhaust gases. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's blue.

    headlight switch

Did it ever light up or do you think it did? I ask because I'm sure I've seen a thread saying it doesn't light up and I'm not near my car to go and look.

    Question about X-pipes

Just think of each bank of your engine being a pump for the other bank thereby not only exhausting it's own gases but helping suck gases out of the opposite bank. An H pipe is at 90 degrees and provides the burble as the gases pass the H-pipe bridge orifice whereas the X pipe physically crosses...

    Magnetic rear blackout panel

I'm going to disagree. I bought one and stuck it on the car and thought it looked even cheaper than it was. It was so naff that after a day I had to pull it off. I would have put it in the bin there and then but gave it away to another Mustang owner who tried it and came to the same conclusion...

    Not looking good for 2010

:rlaugh: I can't believe I didn't know that. Always assumed it was a Lightning engine. That'll teach me to read the specs. Wasn't one of the reasons the Z28 was more expensive than the Mustang the fact that most of them came with T-tops. You don't often see the hardtop, at least I don't in...

    18s or 20s???

To answer one point, I have 20 x 9 and 20 x 10.5 wearing 275/35s all round and no rubbing issues at all. Car is lowered on Roush springs.

    Not looking good for 2010

This is the way it works. Car sales are generated by having your new car as the hot ticket and keeping it desirable by introducing new models and special editions. The 4.6 is cheap to make and GM are indexing the Camaro against the Mustang directly - check the development mules running with...

    Mustangs in Germany?

I'm not so sure the doors would crash down. In the 90's GM sold the LHD only Camaro and C5 Corvette here in the UK. They were very cheap compared to the competition, even fully specced but they bombed. The issue was the LHD and the size of the Camaro in a country where supermarket parking spaces...

    18s or 20s???

I think 18's look too small and have 20's. When it comes to paying for the tires, the 18's win though!

Billet Interior - Steeda, UPR, other?

www.mgwltd.com for the interior and also, as above, Silver Horse Racing. I did have some fog rings off PR which came without any tape and I ended up taking them off not because there was anything wrong with them but because I didn't like the look. MGW is the nuts though.

    Mustangs in Germany?

It's a variety of things. The 17.5% tax is only a small part of it. Historically, European manufacturers have never used big engines in anything but top of the line cars. So traditionally, you had small cars and small engines and big cars and big engines. Makes sense on smaller and narrower...
