Anyone here hate their exhaust sound?

I love my Borla Stinger cat-back, but I haven't installed my 4.10's yet. :bang: Been too busy, but I'm hoping to have them installed within a week. Toggled my overdrive button on and off a few times to get the RPM's up closer to what the 4.10's will be like...and I think the lower gear...

    trouble starting....

Doesn't seem like a battery or starter problem, actually. Seems like an extended cranking time problem. I've seen an extended crank/unstable idle/high idle problem with a Lincoln Town Car. Had a bad Idle Air Control valve - the replacement part was an "improved design". And no service codes were...

    trouble starting....

When holding in the start position, will the engine crank over? If it does crank but won't start right off, I'd check the fuel filter - mine was real dirty when I changed it at 15,000 miles. If engine won't crank at all, you might have a bad ignition switch - fairly common problem.

Ooops! Just checked my invoice for my gears...and I ordered them from CR Motorsports! :owned:

I bookmarked their site a few weeks ago. Probably will buy wheels off of them this fall.

    4.10's ...and I'm PIS**D Off!!!

A few weeks ago when someone made a posting bragging about getting a Group Discount on his 4.10's and paid $169, I noticed a lot of people replied saying "good price" - I didn't notice you tellin' the guy that he should have shopped around more... :nonono:

    4.10's ...and I'm PIS**D Off!!!

Bought the 4.10 Ford Racing RG&P a couple of weeks ago and thought I got a real good deal on it at $169.95 from GEFRacing, but I just checked and the price has dropped to "$139.95"... << 4.10 RING GEAR & PINION - FORD RACING Code: M4209G410 Price: $139.95 >> Seems like most...

Best cat back for 02 GT AUTO? And HP? gain?

If you're only going with a catback system, you're not going to see a whole lot of HP increase - X-pipe and header installs seem to the better upgrades if HP is the main concern, but *any* upgrade on your exhaust is an improvement. But to answer your question, I have an 02 GT auto and I love my...

    Chips and tunes and programmers.

When I used my Superchip Micro Tuner it never detonated on 93 octane or even 91 octane, but when I used my current Hypertech programmer it pinged the 1st time I went WOT with 93 octane...but since that 1st time the *ping* hasn't returned.

    Thermostat Install Help

Support "cage" was too wide on thermostat and bending it would (probably) have weakened it and changed the overall length - may even create a clearance problem when the thermostat started to open.

    gears

That's what I'm wondering. I have my 4.10's in the corner of my office...waiting to have someone else install them, but since I hate to let others touch my car :D I'm thinking about doing it myself. I have the friction modifier and the level 3 complete install kit, the factory service manual and...

    Thermostat Install Help

O-ring goes on top. Did you use a new one? I haven't had a leak problem and I've had mine out several times lately - 180 Lightning (didn't like the design). 160 Hypertech (Perfect fit and large opening but set a "Cold" code). 180 Hypertech (with even a larger flow opening, but support cage was...

    Need Help with a Code

"replacements for the front"? Front O2 sensors? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that P0136 is a downstream (rear) sensor. Seems like it would be Bank 1 - Sensor 2 (Head with #1 Cylinder - Rear Sensor). Deals with incorrect sensor voltage.

    more "running rich" questions...

The rears aren't F6ZF-9G444AA ? Well that's the ones I saw on a '97... As for the fuel pressure. 35-40 PSI with "Key On - Engine Off" and 30-45 PSI with engine at idle.

    more "running rich" questions...

You have more than one Bank 2 sensor - which one are you changing? Being a "fuel" code, it's probably the front sensor. A catalyst code would refer to rear sensor or converter. But, for the "P0175" I've seen this more as strictly being a "fuel" problem - injectors or fuel pressure. You really...

could bad O2 sensors cause a rich code?

I've been seeing a lot of catalyst failures lately - and usually on "Bank 2" for some reason. Failures mainly on trucks, but the catalytic converters seem to look pretty much the same in style and size and many converters are rated more on vehicle weight instead of engine size. Most bad ones...

For those with AUTO and NEW Gears...

I have the Hypertech tuner, so it will correct for the gears. Had the Superchips Microtuner, but the Hypertech program feels stronger. What are your (aprox) RPM's with the 4.10's at 65 or 70? Seems like right now I'm doing about 2,000 at 65MPH with the stock gears. And thanks to all for the...
