How do I find out if I need 3/8 or 7/16 Rocker Studs?

I agree with getting the 7/16 if you dont already have any. They will hold up better underload with less flex than the 3/8. I dont think you will see much difference in prices.

How do I find out if I need 3/8 or 7/16 Rocker Studs?

do they have rocker studs in them already? if so, then just measure the threaded part. it will be 3/8 or 7/16. if it doesnt have studs, then get some that match whatever rockers you buy. the bases are all 7/16, only the top changes.

    Paint Job really badly

just search "automotive paint forum" in your browser. Also wouldnt hurt to buy a book or two. The $1500 you have will barely put a dent in painting your car yourself. Granted you can do all the sanding and body work by hand, yoiu still gotta have a compressor and at least one paint...

    Paint Job really badly

Yes, you have to remove everything from the car. If not, at the very least, you will still see areas of the factory color. Worst case, your new paint will start peeling because it wasnt tied in properly. Here is my procedure on this 01 stang. The fox will be similar: 1)Remove everything from...

    AFR or TW

Really depends on what your future plans are for the car. I will say the nice thing about the TF is that they have large valves and dont require piston notching. They can also be ported later for more power and flow.

    Paint Job really badly

There are alot of guys like me that do it on the side as more of a hobby than a career. I will say that a complete color change is going to be the most expensive option there is. I am doing a 2001 mustang as we speak. It is going from silver to Diamond white tri-coat( color you see on the newer...

    GT40P help

I agree with TomCat. I dont even like the fit of the Ford racing wiresets that are "supposed" to be a custom fit on a 5.0. Just get a universal and you will be much happier and it will look better in the end.

Who's using Fel-Pro head gaskets and a blower?

You really dont need the Cometics. Is your buddy running iron or aluminum heads? You are correct, the -1s are for iron and the -2s are for aluminum. Get a set of head studs while you are at it. They will help tremendously. I was running the Felpro 1011-2 and head studs also. Small powerdyne...

    help please

Yep, that is one half of the connector for the tab, tad, egr, and something else(mine only has 3 connected). There should be another half that plugs into it and has lines going to the egr, manifold vac source, and somewhere else(not sure, mine had everything but egr eliminated before I purchased...

    Few internal engine questions

I wouldnt order anything until you get the engine apart. You may be pleasantly suprised to find you dont need an overbore or new pistons. The 5.0 are known to last many many miles on the stock bore and pistons. I tore mine apart last spring with 130,000 miles on it. No ridge in the bores and...

new aluminum flywheel / stock starter interference

As long as you have the factory 5.0 crank in your engine, then you need the 50oz weight. Nibbie, if you used the 28oz weight on the factory crank, you need to tear it back down and put the 50oz weight.

    Racing wheel studs question.

All the bolts I have ever dealt with are measured from the end of the bolt to the bottom of the head. Maybe wheel studs are different, but I kinda doubt it.

    How embarrassing is this???

Well you could always get another set of the smog plugs and just screw them in and go. Unless you are smogged, then you should be able to remove them from one end and replace them in the other end(hopefully).

Could this be a starter problem?

I usually go to napa and get one that is rated for continous duty. They will last much longer than the standard one. Napa has a book with all of their electrical components in it. Just go through until you find one that is rated for 12 volts continous duty and has the connections you need. Here...

Who's using the old-style timing cover for mechanical fuel pumps on their 5.0?

I actually plan to use one of the older timing covers on my EFI 408 turbo. I can use the block off plate for the turbo drain instead of a fitting in the pan.

    Pressure gauge line restrictor

once the line is completly full, you will get normal pressure. Actually it should be more acurate and your gauges should last longer. I work with ultra high pressure water pumps(40,000psi to 130,000) and we use this same principle on every gauge or tranducer, its also called a "snubber".

    Pressure gauge line restrictor

I personally prefer using stainless steel set screws. The stainless is soft, so it drill easily, plus you have an opeing for an hex key. Just use the locktite, screw into place and let dry. No cutting required.

Why would anybony drill and tap a hole

Actually most of the Nitrous nozzles I have seen and used are 1/16npt which is very very close to 5/16nf. Its kinda a pain because 1/16npt taps are not something you just run to the hardware store and purchase.
