    4.10's ?

OK, not to sound like a jerk but... "4.10" is a LOWER gear ratio than the stock setup. Rear end gearing is expressed as a ratio of the output RPM over the input RPM (or the RATIO of the input to the output). 4.10 is really 1/4.1

Would you like a more powerful GT? Would you sacrfice the V8 engine for it?

I would prefer to have the perf components that are required to get 350hp from a 2.0 in my 4.6. (or maybe a pressurized 5.4......) All things being equal there is still no replacement for displacement.

Is anyone else sick of this...

According to Ford Specs: Total dressed engine mass: V6 - 405 lbs ~ .518 HP per pound V8 - 421 lbs ~ .712 HP per pound To the 'evolution' comments earlier.... Things evolve to be more efficient, not necessarily smaller. The V6 is an older design and the HP per pound efficiency shows...

    05 GTs walked by Used Non-Modded Z28s

Oh, and to 300bhp.... thanks for the pics. I'm an old Mopar nut in disguise. Used to drag a '69 Roadrunner. Best hole-shot of any car I have ever driven. Just don't try a really fast lane change! I would love to have a 300C or even the new Charger (cough, gag, cough .... why couldn't they...

    05 GTs walked by Used Non-Modded Z28s

Little story that I believe says it all.... --- My wife's Suburban (don't have it anymore) was in the shop back when the Camaros were still being sold. We decided to check out the new car showroom. Wife got in a pretty red Camaro, maxxed out. The saleman walks up to her trying to be...

    Superchargers

Some late '20s and early '30s automakers tried centrifugal superchargers. The engines of the time were very slow turning compared to modern engines. The superchargers were very problematic due to the limiited choices of material they had to work with back in those days. Metallurgy has com a...

    building a sleeper

Spend about $7000 and go full tilt with super charger. Forget the exhaust. Keep it quiet. Spend the $$ on super charger, crosspipe, custom dyno tune, gears, set of wider bullit wheels and sticky tires for the rear and maybe some suspension tweaks to hook up better (not lowering the car)...

Competition at the stop lights and on the highways

Just race some of them for crying out loud! Stop with the sissy mag racing and get out there. (Or just enjoy your car and ignore everyone.) There is no substitute for experience. Spend some time at a track. Learn your car FIRST. Don't be stupid (dangerous) and have fun. I had a...

    Radar Detectors

The V1 tells you where the primary bogey it is tracking is at. Front, rear or side. It is great because you can tell very clearly where the main threat is and when you pass it. Passport is a great detector. I just really like the arrows so I am sticking with V1. I have only gotten one...

Price of one 17" Upgraded Wheel?

I nicked one of my wheeels as well. I found them for around $300 each. Decided to live with my scratches.

Adjusted my headlights and fog lights last night, BIG difference

Texas: Lowbeams (it is confusing... it is talking about the "high-intensity" portion of a lowbeam): "is aimed so that no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam on a vehicle that is operated on a straight, level road under any condition of loading projects into the eyes of an...

Adjusted my headlights and fog lights last night, BIG difference

Just know your state regs for headlight aim. In many states you can get ticketed for low beams aimed too high or too far to the left.

    Mustang "Sport"

A LIGHTER Mustang would be great. However, you won't drop much weight cutting out empty space. Shortening doesn't really gain the kind of weight reductions that you would need to make the 'stang perform that much better.

DANICA PATRICK.....Nothing will be the same again!

Both actually... human beings give off a lot of heat. If we just eliminate them altogether global warming will be solved. (I know this is true, I saw it in Terminator 3)

    Whine in 5th gear...

Keep any documentation the dealer gave you about their diagnosis. The rear should not be as loud as yours seems to be. The fact that it happens under acceleration could mean the diff gears are not aligned, could also be a bad pinion or gear ring. If it gets louder or really bothers you...

DANICA PATRICK.....Nothing will be the same again!

Actually, most everyone here is very wrong on the assumptions of G-Force. Men and women react differently to g-forces. NASA has done numerous studies on this. Actually, given similar levels of conditioning (cardio, not necessarilly muscle mass), women tend to handle severe G's over an...
