    Head rests

    It is highly unlikely that any automaker with a design that has an expected lifespan into '07 and beyond would not take the new regs into account. The Ford 500 does not have this problem. Neither does the new BMW 3 series. Luv my 'stang. Just being realistic about the headrests.

    I too find the headrests to be uncomfortable. Upcoming regs or not... other manufacturers (and Ford in other vehicles) seem to be able to design headrests that do not have this problem. Ford dropped the ball on this.

    The Nissan V6 is far from maxed out. It is a great engine. However, it is both heavy and expensive. The expensive part is the real reason Ford is not putting something like it in the Mustang. It's all about good performance for as little money as possible.

    Were you shifting 'manually'? What RPM were you at when it shut off? Did you get any wheel hop before the shut off? Sounds like you either bumped the rev limiter or the TCS kicked in.

    Gas Problems

    I got 16MPG on the first tank that I checked (about 400 miles on the car). I was driving it pretty hard and all in town. 11-13 is pretty low and I would have someone look at it.

    I think the headrests are too far forward as well. I'm gonna pull them off and see what it will take to 'adjust' them.

    V1 - I have two. Others come and go from the top of reviewers list but the V1 has stay at or near the top for at least 7 years. Valentine Research's customer service is also second to none. Great repair and upgrade policy so I don't ever get too far out of date.

    Mine pops to. Only about 300 miles on it. Hey Ford!!! Just buy us all a 1.5" drop Eibach kit. It will be cheaper than paying your engineers to come up with something else!
