Got the car up to 125

I've put the needle past 150 with the stock gears and with the 4.10s... so if it's limited I'd suspect it's 150-155mph.

Got the car up to 125

My '03 4.10'd GT gets up there pretty quick. I don't do it often, though.

    Spring install...?

I think I'm going to install some C springs next week. Just wondering if it's easy and if there's anything in particular I should look out for?

    Best flowing mufflers

my magnaflows go straight through with no chambers or anything in the way, so i suspect the little buggers flow pretty well. :)

    How do I launch

I like to go from about 2,000 and slip the clutch. If I dumped it I would just spin like mad.

    max speed 3.73 ,4.10

5800 RPM in 5th gear with 3.27s would be something around 202mph. Of course a stock GT would never be able to get near that at all.

Whats the Big No-No with 4.10's and a SC

Well I'm sure with some sticky tires and a good suspension traction wouldn't be much of a problem.

Whats the Big No-No with 4.10's and a SC

Hmm, I don't think you'd run out of gear with 3.90's. In 4th gear at 6,000 RPM with the 3.90's you'd be at around 117-118mph.

Whats the Big No-No with 4.10's and a SC

Most say traction. I've got 4.10s now and the rock N/A but I don't know how they will turn out when I go the S/C route. I'm definately going to keep them on and see how they turn out, but I'll probably end up replacing them with something else.

    3650 or not?!

And if it clunks into 2nd you've got yourself a 3650. :rlaugh:

    My 3.90's aren't that great.

You should be able to tell what gear you have just by taking note of your RPMs at certain speeds. Like what RPM are you at when doing 60mph in 5th?

    4:10s and 245's traction?

I have gotten it to hook up on fresh pavement before. That was cool. But on normal roads it spins alot. It didn't sound like it was spinning, but when the back end kept wiggling around I figured it was. :nice:

    My 3.90's aren't that great.

Hrm... you should be able to break loose alot more than with the 3.27's. Maybe you just have to get used to them. I know when I had the 4.10s installed it felt like a totally different car and I had to take a while to re-learn how it drove and such. But even then, I don't think that would...

Nervous about installing pullies and t/a

Yea, pulleys 'ought to provide you with power gains over your entire rev range. :nice:

Shifters are easy to install. Springs vary in price depending on what kind of drop you want. I'm getting Ford Racing C springs ($110) that ought to lower the car about 1.2" all around. I plan on installing them myself too.

    98 gt auto -- 3.73s or 4.10s ??

4.10s :nice: I still get 25-26mpg on the highway with my 5spd.

nah get a cat-back! welded in mufflers = teh loze. just tell the parents that only the headers and mid-pipe see gains. the cat-back won't do anything. :nice:
