    fan switch= really hot

FROM DC CONTROL WEB SITE: "The DC series high efficiency pulse width modulators comprise a high side DC to DC voltage converter, over/under voltage, over current, over temperature, and short circuit protection circuitry." The module probably uses op-amps for signal conditioning and...

    fan switch= really hot

Its true, the dam gate can operate in an on-off or anywhere in between mode. In effect the rate of opening may determin if the output is more analog or more binary. (digital designers face this problem in silicon as-well) However, imagine the dam gate opening very quickly and the amount of...

    fan switch= really hot

I agree most folks would not call it a switch. When a dam gate opens and water flows it may not be called a switch, but it (the gate) acts like a switch (on or off). The dam gate may not look like anything you've seen in the local wall mart, but it sometimes takes "vision" to see the subtle.

...but thats just my point. The connection is "made or not made". It just happens so fast, you don't know it. PWM = Pulse Width Modulation. This is a binary event that is time proportioning. Low temp = short pulse width. Hot temp = longer pulse width. Essentially, the duty cycle of the fan...

    fan switch= really hot

not to split hairs but it is a switch. Its just solid-state (probably PWM modulation with FET or bipolar drivers). I am very impressed with everything I have read on this product. I too will migrate this route soon.

Is your name Tylert? "tylert vinson likes the c o c k" Oh hey, I don't judge your lifestyle choice. I think its good that you know "who you are" at the ripe old oge of 12. Maybe you could post a rainbow flag in your signature? :lock: :lock: :lock: :lock: :lock...

    fan switch= really hot

What you need is a power relay. The relay needs to be sized to handle your fan load. Typical sizing is a minimum of 125% of load.

    fan switch= really hot

Its wired "right". Except that you're pumping a huge current through that swithch and its heating up. It will fail. Very few swithces can handle 20-70 amps....and it would be gigantic if it did.

Thanks guys. Hissin50, you logic makes perfect sense. I'm going to take it in later in the week. I just want it fixed. I have spent the last 4 weekends working on the two stangs (and was even stranded on the freeway one day last month- got towed home by a wrecker who's driver was a...

    AC experts jump in here!

Hissin50, you said retrofit kits....what exactly does that mean? I have been told that R12 is still available beause it is recycled. But, is expensive (like you mentioned). Does this sound accurate? I let it run with the paper clip for about 1 minute. No cold air and no condensation or...

    AC experts jump in here!

I put a paper clip across the pressure switch and the AC clutch engaged. So, this means there is not enough cooling fluid? Is this one of those cases where I should take it to a specialist and let them pressure test the system and recharge it? What do you think it will cost? More money...

    Engine with no oil?

Just a tip that I (um) heard from a friend once, cut the top off of a couple of plastic milk jugs. I "heard" they slide out from under the car easy and can dispose of real easy near the "crime" scene. (or so I have been told--honeltly)

Come-on Hissin50, I know tons of people who like you....or at least ten...or well, I like you! One. One lousy person! Thats it? (J/K :D ) I get 50 psi cold. It barely moves when cold. I get about 20-25psi hot. It only moves about 5-10 psi when reved. I put my sender in the stock...

    header bolts backing out.

The stage 8 locking bolt system works very well. I too had the backing out bolt problem. I tried everything (including torque, drive, re-torque sequences). But, I have not had to touch the stage 8 header bolts in 6 months now.
