    Plug gap question

Crikey! This question is on every Stang web site on the intranez! Too small gap=reduction in spark power Too large gap=increased # misfires and thus reduction in power Read: forums.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?p=8145423 Amazon.com: Performance Ignition Systems, Dr. C. Drag strip ratio (4.10, 3.73?)

Thanks guys. It's not a DD, I think I drove it maybe 2,000miles in the last two years, so fuel mileage isn't a big concern. I found this thread along the same lines. Hhhmmmm...................

    Drag strip ratio (4.10, 3.73?)

This is for a fully-laden street Cobra with 26.0" tires, 5-speed, and mild mods but no blower or nitrous. If I did the calculations correctly, trapping 100mph would result in either 4800 (3.73) or 5300RPM (4.10) in 4th gear. 3.73 is all ready installed and am curious about going to the 4.10...

    Let's rate the new Mustang

I was generous and gave it 3. No, I won't be buying one. The Queen Mary makes 200,000 shaft hp but that doesn't mean I want to drive or own it. I'm not hating on it, it's just that Stangs have become too bloated, the high door line makes it feel claustrophobic, and the gadgets are getting...

    some technical head re-install q's

280 with GT40s...wow. Excellent. OK, scratch what I said about cc'ing heads. I misunderstood, thought you were assembling a new project. That misfire might be incorrect lifter preload; I had to go to 6.300" PRs for my Steeda cam. You might want to measure the preload first, before pulling...

    some technical head re-install q's

    1. correct: "nice to know". 2. yes. This pic may be useful. It's not mine, I can't remember whom to credit. Hope they don't mind if we use it to help you. 3. yes. The tool mates with the the oil pump. Then, you can turn the oil pump without turning the crankshaft. 4. Re-installing...

    some technical head re-install q's

CC'ing the heads and deck clearance are measurements used in calculating compression ratio. I'm not very good at explaining things so here are some links: How To Calculate Compression Ratio- Car Craft Magazine This one is from Mondello's porting school, it's great: How To Measure Combustion...

    some technical head re-install q's

Measure/adjust lifter preload I would take the opportunity to cc the heads and measure deck clearance, and take some photos. I've learned the hard way that I want the information months later. It's like a chess game, you've gotta keep thinking moves ahead.

If You Were To Build Another Mustang

I wouldn't do another Stang. But if I did, it would be the 32-valve engine in the 94-97 (SN95) chassis, with upgrades. Thinking out loud, maybe the Mach1 powertrain in a 94...?

Kitty Litter works great, too. Uh...the unused kind. :rlaugh: And you can use it for oil spills.

How to clean up coolant spill?

 Soak up the anitfreeze with old shop towels, wring them out, and hang them up to dry. An old bath towel works great. Paper towels work, too. This is assuming you drained the system first(!) The mud sux. Snow shovel? :ack: Is the floor sealed or porous?

    what speedo gear

    odd situation, runing lean

My two cents: The speedo/odo is out of calibration. Drive it a few miles on a highway and compare mile markers against your odometer. Hope this helps. Good luck.
