    Dragstrip Tech Inspection

The helmet requirement is a problem. I Think I'm close to the 13.99 cutoff. Dang. I dunno. Maybe I'll make the drive anyway. Oh, hey, BTW, is this in the wrong forum? Sorry, mine's a '94. I forgot there's a "general" forum.

    Dragstrip Tech Inspection

I've been to the track a few times. A few years ago at the old Spokane track a pulse and $20 was about all that was required to get on track. OTOH Renegade wouldn't let me run my 17 second Ranger because I didn't have full-length pants. So now I'm studying up on track tech before taking the...

considering sellling the 95 and getting a 99-04. help me justify

*edit* Not to hurt anyone's delicate feelings, but 99-04s are ugly IMO. Then there's also the initial investment, higher insurance costs, and the cost to modify it. Therefore, given the four options, I place the 99-04's a distant last. A 96-98 Cobra would be a great upgrade from your GT IF...

Should I advance the cam timing on Steeda cam?

 Hhhhmmm, I just installed mine 4° retarded. And like it. If anyone cares, the stock pushrods weren't long enough for my (stock) pedestal-mounts with the new cam.

Performed a DIS test today to test a theory.

Gee, it got awfully quiet in here. :rlaugh: Anlushac, you might find this discussion at RPS useful.

Performed a DIS test today to test a theory.

If you must, disconnect the coil connector rather than the plug wires; disconnecting the plug wires puts a lot of stress on the secondary windings of the coil. However, that will trigger a CEL. If you want to disable the dual-plug mode, look at the DPI signal between the ICM & PCM. But this...

Picture Request - EGR / Air Pump Vacuum Routing

Stanger, does this help? Sorry I forgot the EGR; it connects to one of the two hoses in the top-right of the picture. If that's unclear let me know.

    long tube headers

Wow. Two pages and no one's mentioned a Ouija board yet?! The OP seems to know what he's looking for; for the rest of you guys, here's some science for you: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemasters/articles/hardcore/0505em_exh/index.html http://www.headerdesign.com/login/index.asp...

    Search failed. 0-60mph?

Cool thx Killercanary. I just dug out my old paper magazines from 1994 and they're saying the same thing, and Cobras were ~5.9-6.3. Oddly, all of the GT and Cobra tests were with 3.08 gears. I found one test with 3.55 gears at 5.5 sec. Hhhhmmmmm...........

    Search failed. 0-60mph?

Curious what sort of 0-60mph times are typical for street SN95s? Does anyone have an old Car&Driver they can look up? I'm curious about typical street performance without a blower, nitrous, or slicks; say, a GT with bolt-ons and gears?

    Cut pistons for 2.02 in-car?

From memory, the threads I read said it was approx. ~150 bones. Or there's Plan B: Motorhead, Tequila, and a Dremel.

    Cut pistons for 2.02 in-car?

*edit* Do you mean the cutter uses the head and valve guides as the fixture? Oh, ok. Gotcha. That's not so bad; a far bit better than pulling & disassembling the engine... So, it's only the price of the cutter bit, then?

    Cut pistons for 2.02 in-car?

Is there a fixture or tool on the market that would allow a person to open the valve reliefs for 2.02" valves in-car? TIA, :flag:

    YES Another mustang head question!!!!

http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/gt40p_files/gt40p1.htm http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/05/heads/ *edit* After I posted this, I was curious about the valve springs. My shop manual says the Cobra GT40s have stronger valve springs than the E7s. Al Kirschenbaum's book may have the...

Camshaft, roller rockers, Valve springs??? what else???

Hollywood, are you doing the work yourself? If so, you'll need gaskets, fluids, and some special tools (harmonic puller and torque wrench, for example). I pulled up Summit's page for the 2030 and over on the right are required and recommended parts. *edit* note the PDF at the bottom of the...
