    stuck HLA

I've heard of two ways but never tried it myself. First method is to install a grease or air fitting at the base of the lifter column and pop it out from underneath (wear eye protection!!!) Second method is to use a screw extractor and penetrating oil to pull it out. If you try this, I'm...

    Turbos and Ethanol

As I noted in this thread, Soooo......we'll use a turbo to make up for the lower energy content of the fuel? Heavy sigh. I have a different idea. Legislate a mandatory weight limit on all passenger vehicles. You want an Escalade or other 2-ton behemoth? Fine, prove you have a family...

    2.3L Duratec

For all the work involved with this swap, is a ~13 year old Fox chassis worth it? If you put $5,000 into this swap, you'll have a $4,000 Fox. Nah, just buy a Ranger if RWD is your cup of tea or a used ZX3.

Well, back on topic, every time I watch a Formula 1 race I get RPM envy and start day-dreaming about F20C's, B18's, and SR20's. 79mm stroke but only a two-valve head :bang:

    DIY Porting Ques.

Go to your local book store and find this book. Although it was written before the modern 5.0L, it contains enough theory, calculations, and sectioned heads to point you in the right direction. It also has pictures of which tool bit to use at each point in the port. My $.02, I wouldn't gasket...

    Looking for valve cover ideas

I picked up a spare steel VC at a Pull-n-Save, found a chrome plater in the midwest who estimated $100, sent it out there, and now they're saying $275-$350. Sooo, I said "screw dat, send it back". I must have been out of my mind in the first place to spend a C on that stupid VC. Oh well...

    Turbo Compression Question

*EDIT* What about a "head saver" shim: http://www.partsamerica.com/product_images/AAP/FEL/8471SP_TOP.jpg Fel-Pro 8471SP It's a spacer specifically designed to add volume and thus reduce compression. Alas, I dunno by how much. Maybe someone can post in with that info...? :jester:
