    Considering how many "CD Error" threads there have been over the years, you may want to seriously consider starting with a new head unit, and go from there. I think there are a couple that, with the right harness, will plug into the stock system and provide improved sound, along with mp3...

    +1 BUMP alert... :D Just thought I'd add to this thread. The Optima red top I bought four years ago recently crapped out - not any better than the stock battery that died after 4-1/2 years. I'm not impressed with the Optima red tops, way too much money for what you get. I won't buy...

    +1 Years ago I went to get new tires and didn't have the lug key. :mad: That was the end of my locking lug nuts. :nonono:

    Some more bolt ons

    I agree with what was said above. PI cams and intake swap, gears, and full exhaust are the way to go. Until then, a couple of relatively inexpensive and very worthwhile mods are a shifter and full-length subframe connectors. :flag:

    According to the FRPP catalog, the B springs have a progressive rate of 425 to 530, the C springs have a fixed rate of 650, and stock 2002 GT springs have a fixed rate of 450. The B springs will be a little stiffer than stock, and the C springs will be significantly stiffer than stock. :flag:

    does anyone run royal purple?

    Mobil 1 oil and Motorcraft filter here, every 5k miles. :nice: I have RP gear oil in the pumpkin, but that was a few years ago. No problems with that, but next fluid change will be Mobil 1. I use Mobil 1 transmission fluid. I trust Mobil 1 over Royal Purple. :flag:

    Maybe FRPP B springs would be a good choice? Same drop, rear springs same rate as the C springs, front springs not as harsh as the C springs. :shrug:

    Something doesn't seem right here... Instead of throwing parts at it, you probably would be better off getting a mechanic (or somebody who knows what to look for) to fix it. Good luck.

    4.6 Reliability ????

    Same here, except for the power window motor going out under warranty. This car has been the most reliable car I've owned (Olds, Mazda, GMC, Ranger pu, Plymouth, Honda). :flag:
