    Weiand Vs Edelbrock Intake.

Having ported both, the Stealth has tapered runners, which (all else considered) flow a bit more than a runner with equal diameter. Port matching the Stealth is pretty easy. The RPM, on the other hand has some tapered and some non-tapered runners. Tapered runners can be opened up to fit the head...

67' Shelby Gt500 Restored For Sale

Am I wrong about this?: Shelby didn't make a 390 GT 500. The 390 was an option in the '67 Mustang GT. So, I can't believe it was a Shelby. I think it's a clone. At that, it does look like a good deal, given the description and pics.

    Suspension Wallow Blues

Well, you can try the Del-Alum bushings from Global West. They replace the rubber bushings in the rear leafs and will reduce some body roll. Stiffer shocks will also help. 16 or 17" wheels/tires will (maybe) do the most. If you ever think you want to go to a big (13") front disc brake, then get 17s.

Engine What's The Best Rpm For 302?

Using my handy-dandy RPM/tire size spreadsheet and knowing that a 4" dia cylinder typically has max efficient burn at around 2000RPM, I would agree that the 3.55 to 3.8 range is where you want to be. I have 3.70s with a 2.95 1st T-5 and am happy with it. If you are leaning toward mileage over...

Main Bearing Clearance At .0015 For 289?

I'd run Shell Rotella Triple protection 10W-30. Last I heard, it still had the additives. Check first. Anyone here know for sure? I went full roller when I built the 331, so I don't keep up.

    65 Mustang Subframe Connectors

Maybe I'm the only one who would make a pattern to cut by. :-) Not as gifted as some, I guess.

Main Bearing Clearance At .0015 For 289?

Watch your oil pressure. If it looks high, run (or start with) a thinner oil, like a 10W30.

    It's Official, She Runs!!

Thanks for the pics of the DCOEs. Inglese setup, huh? Hadn't seen that before. Is there an air cleaner solution? I had mine without air cleaners for a while, but I hated to drive it that way. Finally got a system that works well, but it required the modified hood. It never ends.

    65 Mustang Subframe Connectors

I have TCP sub-frames. They made a big difference stopping body twist. The other big bang for $$ mod is a sheetmetal panel between the trunk and passenger compartment. Basically, you make a pattern, cut it out in sheetmetal and rigidly attach it in place of the original cardboard. Another member...

Fe And Tremec 5 Speed Question

That 482 is a lot of motor. One like that was built up here locally in SoCal for a 69-70 Shelby clone. First time the owner drove it he crapped his pants and put it up for sale. Last I heard, it was in Texas and owned by some guy with a Ferrari dealership. Drives the stink out of it there. Sorry...

Fe And Tremec 5 Speed Question

Hi Markus. You can skip over most problems by putting in a stroked 351 motor. Maybe not as cool as an old FE, but way less work and less money, too. Are you committed to the FE motor? I'm curious about your 24lb injectors. Did you ever think they were limiting your power output?

Been Burned Once With A Header Purchase And Don't Want To Get Burned Again!

Yes, the headers from Doug Thorley and Doug's Headers are different. I saw examples of both and chose the latter.

    It's Official, She Runs!!

PoppyMod: what do Dual 40 mm DCOE Webers on a Performer RPM manifold look like? HDTony: how wide is your air cleaner? I may have a hood that will work for you. It's an all steel hood with custom scoop. I had it made for my setup with the Webers, but the scoop wasn't tall enough. So, I now have...

    Ignition Switch Problems

Well, I'll just say that I've never had a problem with a Scott Drake part. If it fails, I would definitely start hunting elsewhere for the root problem.

Roller Rockers For The Street, Are They Really Worth It?

Sorry for the late reply. Glad to hear about the head upgrades. Roller tips should be fine. If you ever think you will build the motor further, then I'd invest in the full rollers. Lots of choices there. Plenty work fine, but the Miller Engineering full rollers are, perhaps, the best. Lot's of...

Been Burned Once With A Header Purchase And Don't Want To Get Burned Again!

Doug's Headers and Doug Thorley Headers are two different animals. Doug's ex-wife got Doug Thorley Headers. Doug started a new company as Doug's Headers (now owned by Pertronix). I don't know if he started something new since selling out to Pertronix. I have a set of 1 5/8" Doug's Tri-Ys...

Roller Rockers For The Street, Are They Really Worth It?

Are you running the stock heads with press-in studs? Stock valve springs?
