    Air trapped in cooling system

You need to bleed the system from one of the highest points in your system. Try jacking the front of the car up, put on stands, remove radiator cap (cold), put catch pan under car, make sure the heater is on, run till air stops coming out of radiator. Top up system & should be good to go...

Crate '69 Camaro soon Crate '67 Mustang FB?!

Not sure that it would be illegal in the sense of getting the car registered. I would assume most people buying these cars have a donor car & would use that vin to register it. Now as far as a morale issue there is a problem. I am against any kind of "clone" being called an original. But if I...

Are they for real, a 4 door Charger. :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :rlaugh: This is what happens when foreigners own an American company. :( :( :(

Oil Leak from back of Engine

Sounds like rear main. But before you start taking things apart check the following as they can trail into the bell housing. Rear of the valve covers, between the heads & block, rear of the intake manifold & pan gasket.

Crate '69 Camaro soon Crate '67 Mustang FB?!

Thought it was too good to be true. :( But still would be a deal for someone restoring a Shelby, etc. Put all the good Shelby stuff on it & vin numbers & your good to go. If their panels are of high quality it still may be very economical to do a tube frame car. You can buy used tube frame...

Engine sputters and stalls like out of gas

Yes, g/f is gas filter & it screws into the carb. They do get clogged & will shut you down. Unscrew the filter & blow through it the way the fuel travels. If it is easy then filter is good, if hard filter is clogged. If you have a pipe cutter open the filter & inspect for rust, dirt, etc...

Crate '69 Camaro soon Crate '67 Mustang FB?!

Wow. Will have to go out & get the mag. That sounds like a great price for a complete tub & body. I bet you could just buy the panels from them & go tube frame if desired.

Engine sputters and stalls like out of gas

Old car, could be a lot of things. But sounds like fuel. When you take off the g/f open it up & see if it is dirty or clogged. You may also want to run a clear in line filter to monitor your flow & or dirt if any. Tank may be rusty & causing problem. Good luck.

Crate '69 Camaro soon Crate '67 Mustang FB?!

A few years ago a group of shop owners on Long Island, NY tried to make fiberglass bodies of the stang. Never happened though. Put a new body on a tube frame, (your choice drag or road race) & build the ultimate Restro-Mod. Very cool. :nice:

    Re-Tapping Sparkplug hole.

SKYWALKER I would recommend you know what your talking about before you place a post. :nonono: Molybdenum (MOS2) is the main component in antiseize compounds. MOS2 is not a conductoer it is a semi conductor so it properties can lead to the lose of ground that I have witnessed. Dave...

    Re-Tapping Sparkplug hole.

I agree Hack Not sure what point I was making that you missed. My first post to this thread had a correct assumption. It's a must for alloy heads & can cause lose of ground.

    New magazine articles?

Watch for the AUTOWEEK Mag. They seem to get a lot of first drives.

    Re-Tapping Sparkplug hole.

67coupe351 Good deal. As I suspected, you still may want to run a tap through the top threads to clean them up. Hack What happens with the antiseize is after a short period of time & the heat of the heads, the gooey paste now gets hard & you can loose a ground. I first witnessed this in...

    Re-Tapping Sparkplug hole.

HACK With alloy heads and lots of antiseize you will lose your ground. This is common knowledge with the VW air cooled crowed. Also, use a rag to wipe your hands instead of using your clothes. Didn't your mother teach you anything? :nonono:

    Re-Tapping Sparkplug hole.

Your buddy's plug may have just been loose when it blew out. He may luck out running a 14mm or 18mm plug tap through the hole. And yes you can have too much anti-seize on a plug. I have seen it where the plug will not fire because it could not ground with all the anti-seize on it.

fuel cell or modify gas tank?

Call around to different welders, radiator or machine shops & see who will weld on the necessary line you need. Should be easy & cheap. I had a Fuel Safe on my road racer & it was sweet.

    Paintjob time baby...

FYI: MAACO has a new 5 year clearcoat which looks pretty good. $1200 They also have a production job for about $800 that a local MAACO owner has on his own truck, also looks nice. Their booths seem to also have current updates. To get a nice job its all in the prep & application. I assume...

    Lets talk welders...

For body & unibody work the small migs are great. Any heavy structural work like roll cages will need stronger & or different methods. Call your local welding supply for prices on supplies as they do vary quite a bit.

    64 Fastback

shoff It's admirable that you want to take on a project like this. But if you are going to have this done professionally be ready to pay a lot more then 30K. If the car is severely rusted your looking at a nightmare. A very respected restorer in Lake Carmel, NY is doing just some minor body...

WTF? No oil pressure and the engine still runs?

bull999999 Its always a good idea to prime your oil system whenever it is taken apart. I have seen pumps that are air bound & drive people crazy. You say you had pressure & lost it. Check the bottom of your distributor were the oil shaft connects & make sure it is not damaged. I think you...
