    just a bit of info - a properly ported 5.0 HO intake will flow 190-200cfm which is the same as a GT40 head flows stock, so running a ported stock HO intake on those heads does not compromise power to any significant degree.

    The cam change is what SD in finicky about. An E cam will kill the SD driveability. If you want a cam for SD with the possibility of some "lump", get a good cam supplier to make you one - like Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction - but it ain't cheap ($325-$350). Otherwise leave the SD cam in...

    heads,intake, throttle body from an Explorer and you'll be very close to 300HP at the crank.

    until you change the cam, you can change heads and intake. I made 277RWHP/330RWTQ with the SD computer and a stock cam with Explorer intake and heads and would still have that setup if I had not damaged the cam. I now run a Crower 15511 cam and am still SD but have not been back to the dyno yet.

    Not a lot, your intake flows ~190-195cfm and the Cobra flows ~200-205cfm. It takes ~1.5 cfm to make 1HP, so MAYBE 10 HP tops. Gonna be hard to feel in the butt-o-meter. Mike's E7 heads flow a little overe 210cfm peak.

    Yes they do, however the computer still thinks it will be getting EGR in the intake as it computes fuel and spark - but it won't be there will it? What could (not always) happen then?

    then you should turn off the EGR function in the EEC as it uses the EGR in fuel/spark calculations.

    I understood what he said - did you understand what I said? A spacer does zero "cooling" good with a big chunk of EGR spacer aluminum bolted to the upper that has 190-200 degrees coolant and 1000 degree EGR gasses passing through it.

    Consider what the differential pressure is across the valve (Cylinder depression with respect to the plenum) and then think about the difference in affect the valve timing will have. open the valve early and the diff-p across the valve is less than waiting longer, this leads to a lazy air speed...
