    04 cobra not fast enough

    What? I've never heard of anyone losing power through a CAI on a 03/04 Cobra. there have been issues with certain CAI because of poor design, but it's a GOOD mod without a tune.

    How much oil???

    It says 6 quarts, but mine isn't right where it needs to be until almost 6.5. I would say you are probably good with anything between 6 and 6.5.

    Mach also may have some value in the future becuase of the rarity, and the 4V DOHC will be better for you if you decide to power adder in the future (FI on the 4v heads rocks because the flow is so high).

    I've got some money...what mod is next on 03 cobra

    I would do the following mods if I were in your situation and wanted to "keep" a warranty. First a good CAI, followed by subframes, followed by a clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster... after that maybe a nice catted h or x pipe.

    I don't know, it just sounds to me like you don't really "need" a cobra and would be better off with a GT. Just from your description of your driving habbits.

    Why would you want to reduce the air that flows onto the radiator and heat exchanger? I think they were left open for a reason.

    Switching to Synthetic Oil

    You shouldnt have any issues, I personally recommend Mobil 1 5w30. If you want your motor to last, use synthetic or at the very least a blend, end of discussion :) Dino oils only should be used until the motor is broken in IMO!

    How many miles you have?

    6550 on my 03 Cobra, purchased Early June 03. Its not a daily driver, as im self employed and work from home, however it is my only car. I do have a old explorer POS I can use when its raining or snowing but otherwise I mostly use the Cobra.

    My First Mod

    Get exhaust, subframes and a shifter first! =) Painting can get pretty expensive, I dont know what color they come but im 99% sure the pieces will not come painted.

    I say get the Cobra. 4V, forged block, t-56 and all the goodies. You can add any saleen parts you want later on :)

    Allright, I have an 03 Cobra and I want to chip/pulley. I live up in CO at around 5800 feet. Im probably only putting around 320-330rwhp down up here, maybe a little more with my current mods (obviously more SAE, but im talking actual power). My question is, does this turn into less wear...

    Auto vs. Manual

    For those of you who have daily drivers, dont forget you will get worse mileage from an auto, especially with 4.10's and a stall.. Just a reminder. I get better mileage from my 03 cobra then I did my old Auto GT :O That being said, they both have their perks. I dont want an all out drag...

    No problems so far with 6300 miles.. knocking on wood that it stays that way. But I know how you feel, I always want to keep my car in 100% perfect condition, even if something stupid is broke I agonize over it till its fixed.

    engine life span

    All depends on how much care was taken of the engine. Its as simple as that :( Ist hard to guess the lifespan, could be 100k or 250k.

    Gas Mileage anybody?

    Im getting around 22 average now on my 03 with exhaust, air filter and synthetic oil. Was getting around 17 when I bought it so breakin + mods seemed to have helped.
