    i don't think anything ... only that wheel hop is apparently pretty common without quads, and putting the quads back on has been known to fix it. it seems possible to me that whatever condition results in it for other cars may have developed over time on your car as well (which is 16-17 years...

    um, ok ..... if the headers are a little loose, sometimes they will let more noise out until they heat up and seal ... :shrug:

    forged pistons are known to be kinda noisy when the engine is cold. might you have forged pistons?

    is it still a 302? if so, it should run, but definately stay out of boost until you get a tune for it. otherwise, you'll probably be taking it apart again!

    if the sole goal is simply 35 more horses, i agree with kurt that just an intake will most likely get you there. why not try that first and then re-evaluate?

    yeah, 25-28 is about 10 psi too low. around 38-39 is much closer to what it should be

    it may be that the fox design does not flow better, but: with a fox setup, you can get a throttle body made by accufab which, for a given size, is reported to flow better than other throttle bodies of the same size.
