    there are hundreds of things that could make it ping. the first thing i'd check would be the timing. it's a shot in the dark since a old lady owned it but it could be advanced a little too far.

    pulling the upper is pretty easy to do. and you shouldn't have to buy the gasket if you're carefull and don't rip the old one. like i said, i've never heard of that fuel system coloring stuff that you speak of so i bet if it even exists, it'll be hard to find.

    if the air/ fuel ratio was that rich, it would've ran like complete ****. i think that their machine was messing up. there's no way it could've been off the charts and still run as smooth as you say it did.

    i've never heard of that stuff that you're talking about putting in your gas tank but if you can get it, that'd be the best way to find a leak. you might have to pull the upper intake off to inspect all the lines more closely and the o-rings on the fuel lines because you can't really see...

    that ****in' headlight knob! i hated that thing sooo much. i couldn't get it off to save my life! finally i just pulled and ripped it off and it didn't break luckily.

    you can just pull out the instrument cluster, if i remember right it's just two little screws and the cover comes off and then there's four other screws and the instrument cluster comes out. i pulled that out and tapped into the harness back there.

    i work at ford dealership as a tech. and i've never even heard of any mustang tranny problems :shrug: that's weird that some of you are having so many problems and our dealership hasn't had any in with those complaints. i wonder what the deal is. :shrug:

    i had the same problem with trying to find the right throttle body gasket. eventually i just made my own out of gasket material. everybody lists them for the 96-93's and it's way to small of a bolt pattern. even the ford dealer i work at can't get me the right one. :nonono: what a bunch of...

    that's weird because we get car's in all the time at our shop with a misfire and just had the plugs changed at some private shop and the plugs would be autolite's or some other plug and they would already be bad and then we'll change the plugs with motorcraft ones and it'll be gone. :shrug: but...

    man i've had nothing but trouble with autolites. i always just use motorcraft plugs because i can get them pretty cheap.

    351w in and running, but problem

    it's NOT rich. it's lean. it would have to be ungodly rich to even begin to glow red and even then i don't think it would glow. are you sure your timing is right?
