    Transmission swap problems

Starter must come out! Separator plate is in there and will just stop you. Yup! Some bolts are from front and some from back. Hint, 13mm gearwrench is the ticket for reaching some of those bolts. Bruce

    front tranny seal

Out is easy! Fast way is to put a screwdriver on the outside lip and give it a whack. This will bend it up so you can grab it with pliers or get something under the lip to pry it out! I have an old screwdriver that I heated and bent the last 1/4ths inch on. Amazingly useful tool! Bruce

Anyone from East Texas? Marshall Longview Tyler Shreveport etc.

Not far! I'm nearby, but my stuff ain't fast. I've been playing with a lot of 2.3 stuff. The only thing that may even come close are an 83 5.0 vert or a 70 351W vert. Current fun is a 90 Bronco II that will have a turbo 2.3 soon. I did see a lot of trailered drag cars in hallsville...

    Hesitation problem

Surprised that no one has mentioned the temp sending unit yet. This sometimes causes the computer to remain in a richer "warmup" mode even after it has warmed up. I found this whe mine was stuck in "run" mode...it was hard to start and an fine after a bit. Bruce

    AOD to T-5 woes...help?

What tool are you using? You do know that these are 12 point bolts. don't you? I think they are 12 mm. If you are using a 6 point socket or an open end wrench it won't work! And I put Loc-tite on them so theydon't fall out. And they are usually TIGHT!!! Bruce

the lil black thing with the wire comming out the back of the steering wheel that....

Just stuff Th first item is a devise that locks the key unless the shifter is in park..not needed for the T-5. The looped wire is (I believe) for the neutral safety switch. This function is now handled by a switch on your clutch pedal. In doing the pedal swap you will find a similar plug under...

They are cool! My next big project is an 84 Gt Turbo vert that I picked up for 400.00. Previous owner put a carbed pinto motor in it and never got it running. I bought an 86 Turbo-coupe for the motor but liked it too much to part. Then I found an 87 that was robbed of the manifolds and turbo...
