    yeah i agree with mike on the stock fan clutch. although you didn't say anything about the water pump so that could also be it. however, the easiest thing it could be was like timmy said, maybe you didn't burp the system and it is only low on coolant. are you checking it hot or cold?

    so what we are talking about here is only the sensor wire to make the light come on when the oil gets low? or is it the sensor that makes the oil level go up and down?? the reason I ask is because I too have a black wire hanging down there but my oil pressure gauge works.

    go find a junk yard in your area that will give you some kind of warranty (mine gave me a 91 day warranty), get a 2000 up v6 alternator and the plug and you will be set. 2000 up v6 alt. are the same 130 amp alt that were used on 94-95 gt's and mine only cost me 40.00
